Can someone help me settle a dispute

this guy I know and I got into a dispute about LaVar Arrinton's contract. I sayed it is impossible for LaVar to be traded or released because then we would take about a 30 million dollar cap hit. (I got these numbers off a post I read from BossHog earlier this week.)


He says His roster bonus of $6.5 million doesn't kick in until after July 15th. That means the Redskins could trade/cut him between June 1st and July 15th, and less than $2 million of his signing bonus would impact the 2006 cap.


Can someone settle this and break down how it works.

$30M is the amount BH said LA is owed. His 2006 cap hit is a little more than $12M if we keep him the $6.5M is bounus money that is not counted in the $12M until it becomes due. If Lavar is not on the team at that time then it won't count against the cap. If Lavar is released or traded before June we will carry $12.8M in dead cap space for him

Breakdown:
Base salary $545,000
Prorated SB $5,096,000
Other Bonus $$6,405,000 again this doesn't include the $6.5 RB
