Proud to be a Redskins Fan

Post by Justice Hog »

Regardless of what happens in Philly on Sunday, win or lose, this year I've been very proud to be a Redskins fan!

Yes, I'm actually proud each year...but this year...I'm just a little "prouder" because of the level of play this team has performed all year long. This team has finally found the "chemistry" it's been missing for oh so many years . . . and it is really fun to watch them play week in and week out.

With each passing week, after the 3 losses, this team has seemed to get better and better. If we win in Philly, we'll be among the hottest teams entering the playoffs and, to be sure, no team in the NFC will want to face us.

If the Skins lose in Philly and get knocked out of the playoffs, sure I'll be upset....but I will not be disheartened.

No matter what happens this year, I am already looking forward to seeing this team play next year! If we're able to keep this team intact, I think the sky will be the limit next year!!

i agree with ya JH on all fronts. staring 3-0 was good then that tough mid season stretch going 0-3 ,then the current streak that may very well put them in the playoffs if they win on sunday.sure if they don,t win on sunday i,ll be upset as well but proud at the sametime. just keep this team together and let,s see how everybody does next year with a few players added to the right areas of need. keep geg williams, please.

sky,s the limit for sure.

Great post! As a team and an organization the Redskins have grown leaps and bounds. Faith in Gibbs' system and a group of core Redskins have turned this franchise around. Alot remains to be seen but we're playing for the playoffs! Win or loose we got at least that far. I'm a proud fan and look forward to several more years from the savior Joe Gibbs. (Now if only we can keep Gregg Williams from signing to another team in the off-season...)
"The biggest misrepresentation there is that [it's because] Dan's got a lot of money. That's not it," Gibbs said. "We've got a rule. Believe me, if we had no rules, Dan would spend some money."

I agree. The icing on the cake for this season came two weeks ago when I got to look at my Dallass fan coworkers and tell them the streak is currently at 2-0. The look on their faces was priceless.

I also agree. THis team is really pulling together and clicking. No matter what happens, it is a successful year. It would be great to get int he play-offs now though. If we can get another WR that can make a difference, I think our offense will really be great.

I dunno fellas..I understand the sentiment but I'm going to be hella PO'd if we drop this game to Philadelphia and miss the playoffs.

If your kid is an F student then shows that he/she can do A work but settles for a C..would you be happy?

The 2005 Skins have shown us what they are capable of and not making the playoffs would be a very hard pill for me to swallow.

I have always been a Redskins fan and will always be a fan. If we miss the playoffs (and I hate even typing that), the talk will be all about how good we will be next year after going from 6 to 9 wins in Gibbs' first two years.

But there are no guarantees in the NFL. We don't know what is going to happen next year. We all have faith that our Skins will take that next step and become one of the elite teams in the league. Anything can happen between now and then though.

I want our team to maximize their potential this year. The only way they can do that is in the playoffs. If they drop a game to an inferior Philadelphia team, they will rob themselves of that chance to prove how good they are this year. And thinking about how good they will be next year will not be that big of a comfort to me in December of 2005 and January of 2006.
After every game, every play & every highlight, I'll always remember #21. RIP Sean.

Where is anyone getting the indication that the Skins will fold against Philly???? I truly am stumped on this one. :hmm:

After all, this is the team that came up with "five in a row, or we don't go," not "four".

Sure, I'm proud of our team's accolades, and, yes, i'm well aware of the futility shown by Redskins teams in recent memory, but I am by no means even close to believeing that this team will NOT fulfill its goal of making the playoffs.

They've worked too hard and too long to just lay an egg in Philly. I'm ready to see this team deliver on its goal. This will be five in a row, and all NFC teams better not overlook US going into the second season. In my opinion, there is no reason we as fans should resign ourselves to be merely content with this year's perfomance, just so we can feel better in the unlikely event we lose. Go ahead and let your guard down, dream a little, and enjoy our playoff run. My 2 cents
Back and better than ever!

Which is not to say it can't happen. I think what you're seeing here is some longtime fans who can't believe what is happening here with this team.
They're waiting for the other shoe to drop, whatever the hell that means. :)

My son is 13 years old and finally he gets to see what its all about being a Skins fan. We couldn't be happier, knowing theres a light at the end of tunnel, if not this year, it will be next year. I'm talking "Super Bowl". Also I love how all the naysayers have shut their pieholes about Dan Snyder and how Joe Gibbs is to old for the game and how the game has change since he coached in the 80"s. Every Thursday I tune into Comcast just to see what Clinton Portis is going to say or wear this week. Redskins will always be my team no matter what.

Hail to the Redskins..
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!
