I just watched this movie, very interesting. I always knew McDonalds was an evil corporation, but I never realized how bad it is for you. Any thoughts?

You should read Fast Food Nation. It's very enlightening.

Here's your change: My 2 cents

;)

Seriously, I doubt eating salad for thirty days would increase your cholesterol, make you gain a bunch of weight, etc., etc. (Unless they were really sugary salads.) Also, that wasn't the only point of the movie. There is actually some interesting info on there on school lunches and general nutritional habits.

have you ever watched morgan spurlock's TV show, 30 days. that show, when it came out, became my new favorite show. he got this guy from west va, devout christian, member of the NRA, etc, etc, to live as a muslim in Dearborn, MI (for those of you who dont know, that's the Muslim capital of the UNited States). he had to eat, sleep, breathe, and live the muslim way for 30 days, and at the end he put aside his fears and even prayed with his congregation in the mosque, albeit holding a cross, but still. as a member of the hindu religion, i know people who were attacked or threatened after september 11 and whatnot, simpky because of our faith and color, and i commend spurlock for doing that episode. at the end of the episode, the man from WVa said he would go to bat for islam and its people.

other episodes include spurlock and his girlfriend (fiance maybe) living on minimum wage for a month. it was a real eye opener into how hard it is for many americans to live because of the lack of financial compensation they receive for doing arguably the most strenuous work.

On the more sports related side of things, he got this one-time great college swimmer who let himself go a tad (kinda like the hogettes :p) to take a new drug that was being proclaimed as the fountain of youth, and to try to see if he couldnt get back into his form. he almost died, and i think the show's moral was "don't take steroids," because that's esentially what it was that he took.

spurlock may ruffle a few feathers with some people, but i think what he's doing is amazing and he should be recognized for it. he's not like michael moore, who does outlandish things, he just goes and shows a real life example and makes people feel something. all michael moore does is walk around asking inane questions and trying to pick a fight. spurlock makes you think, all over the course of just 30 days.
Sean, may you always rest in peace and look down on us with the same love that we look up to you.

Hail to the Redskins!

I admit that I'm kind of a junkfood junkie! But when I was in the service and in good shape I went for months and months without eating any kind of fastfood. Then I ate McDonalds and nearly did throw up. It definetly takes a toll on your body. Now that I have a generally poor diet McDonalds doesn't have that effect on me. So, why when I know how bad that stuff is do I still eat it?
