I hope we don't play down to Philly's level!

Post by Justice Hog »

Okay, great win against the Giants....but moving on....next victim: Philadelphia Eagles.

When the Skins played in Arizona, they played down to the Cardinals' level and almost lost that game.

I hope they don't do that against Philadelphia.

I hope the players don't write this one off as a "win" because most of the starting players for the Eagles will be watching the game rather than playing it.

Gibbs has to get these players as fired up for this game as they were against the Cowboys and Giants. Hopefully, he'll be able to do just that . . . with the playoffs on the line and all.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

They still have a good D & they make plays, we need to be careful!

When was the last time we had such a great division record?

After a lot of frustration this year, Joe will not allow this to happen, they overcame a lot to fall short now.

If the team plays with the same intensity and preparation as the last couple weeks it should be a beating. If overconfidence sets in... Man I don't want to look my friends in the face if we get eliminated by a second-rate by-product of Philadelphia.

I was thinking this same exact thing yesterday. Its too early to start celebrating; the Skins have done things to let me down before in the past and I'm hoping they'll come through today, but taking the Iggles lightly is one thing we can't afford to do.

i'm so glad everyone is cautious about this game.. philly plays well at home... no matter what their record... this game cannot be taken lightly by the skins.... hopefull the sheer fact that if they won then they are in will be motivation enough for them to pull this game out!
May #21 never be worn again by another Redskin but may every Redskin play like they are wearing #21 on their backs.

I'm still trying to recoup my vocal chords from the last two weeks of being in Fed Ex, however I realize there is no rest for the weary as I plan on travelling to Philly for the finale. If the Skins can play power football they should be able to dominate, of course this also means no mistakes and or negative plays especially the turnover. If Patrick gets the start we gotta keep him in a position not to lose the game. This is accomplished by letting Portis get his 9th 100+ yard game and stuffing the ball right down those Iggles throats. And then the Defense should be able to open the flood gates on Philly's make shift squad of and offense. I live in Carlisle PA and  I can't tell you how much I seeth at the eagles and their fan base my ill contempt is comparable to Dallas when it comes to Philly. So nothing will make my New Year's more enjoyable then another Redskin thrashing of a hated NFC east foe!

So if I go to the game will I be able to wear my colors or will some a-hole fans give me a hard time? Is the new stadium as bad as the Vet?

Philly is still a good team with die hard players. We are playing on the road in Philly. This is going to be a hard fought game. The philly fans will be up for this one.

Few worse places to go in the NFL when you have to get a win. Joe Gibbs knows this, and he'll make sure the players are ready. Philly's D is still good enough to make it tough, so the Redskins will have to avoid dumb plays and control the clock. In other words, play Redskins football, Joe Gibbs style.

We have a coach who can do wut he is... We've had coaches in the past who couldn't coach. Gibbs is keeping things in perspective. We haven't locked anything up yet. I dont expect them to cool down, they'll annihilate Philly cus they want this bad.

it's almost like the football gods are setting us up, by handing Dallas that bogus win in Carloina... if not for that, we'd already be in... I hope the gods aren't teasing us only to give Philly a bogus last minute call that lets them pull off the upset... WE MUST PUT THEM AWAY EARLY...

Absolutely this game in Philly is gonna be tougher than it looks on paper. We are going to there turf and you guys all know how those stinkn fans are they booed destinys child once at a halftime show. Its also gonna be pretty cold and despite all there injuries they still have a pretty good defense. Just gotta hope we hang in there for a tough one and hope our players are not emotionaly spent.
