Talk about a great Christmas present.
After years of dropping tough home losses in the division, the Redskins are actually 4-1 in the NFC East, including home wins over Philadelphia, Dallas, and the NY Giants.
This made me wonder: when was the last time the Skins beat all 3 of their rivals at home in the same season?
According to my research, the last time we beat the Cowboys, Giants, and Eagles at home in the same year was 1987!! So long ago that people born that year are now voting!
Incidentally, the 1997 Redskins beat Dallas and Philadelphia at home, but TIED the Giants 7-7 in OT in the infamous Gus Frerotte head butt game. So while none of those teams BEAT us on our home field that year, we cannot say that we beat them all either.
And yes...the 1987 Redskins did go on to win Super Bowl XXII.
What a great present from Joe Gibbs to the Washington Redskins loyal fans. We have been through a lot but he has fianlly brought us back to our old winning ways.

It feels so good to be a redskin fan!!!I just walked into a local restaurant and there sat some of my so called "buddies" and none of them are skins fans.There in the background was a t.v. blazing todays highlights of the skins taking it to the gaints.I heard no remarks, about my redskin wear I had on!!!Everyone is starting to realize that Joe Gibbs is for real!!!!I also have a new logic.When some one calls us the "Deadkins", look at them and reply "We are not the Deadskins,we are the Redskins" We have Joe Gibbs back!!!RG3....Super Man....check out my socks!!!
After the game every player and coach who was interviewed said the same thing - "This is not a win for the Redskins, it's a win for the people of Washington." I thought that was pretty cool. So yeah, that's our present from Joe Gibbs.
