Albeit the Pukes had a lot of injuries to their offensive line it was truly wonderful seeing us getting some pressure. When was the last time we've been able to cause that type of havoc without blitzing the house? I've been screaming all year long about how the rush lends a helping hand to the secondary and last weeks game proved that point. I really hope that it will carry over to the Giants game and from there onward. What we really have to look forward to is next season when we're able to truely upgrade that position. Walt Harris is not an elite corner but he is solid. He is a DB who needs a pass rush. Springs can get bye without one, the verdict is out on my man Rogers. Walt needs to be kept because with a pass rush his play will elevate.
With a pass rush our blitzing will become more effective. It seems like a lot of people are dumbfounded as to why our D couldn't attack. I think its very simple. The ONLY way to get pressure on our D was to blitz. People had a year of film to learn us and they learned our schemes, or looks and picked up the blitzes. When you blitz the house and a DB gets beat its going to be trouble. Gregg had to play a lot more conservative this season IMO because of that. Now imagine us getting CONSISTENT pressure with our line. Now if a team is having trouble containing our line, wut do you think is going to happen when we blitz. Hell will break loose on these QB's. We need to keep Williams and we need to get that man a pass rush by any means neccesary.
#1 DE
#2 WR
#3 depth at CB

i agree as well CLL we need more push alongside c griffin another explosive wr and added depth.
just imagine with another santana type with size and speed to go with him and cooley we would have alot more to go to ,spread it around.
another OLor DE wouldn,t hurt either.

Valid point CLL and I think the D line is the #1 prority also. I also think that this was the first time in a while that they have had the D line bodies available. I heard that we have been playing "shorthanded" and dinged up on the D line.
Hopefully they have another great day tomorrow. I would be surprised if any line can handle Williams defense, twice in a season. The Giants line is not that good and playing hurt. Last week, CLL could have run for a hundred yards against that pitiful exhibition by KC. Cunningham should be looking for a job again this off season after the Chargers (& a real RB) blast them this week.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I agree, DE (pass rushing), WR (tall) and CB (veteran for depth) are needs. I'd like to see another OG and OT for depth. Plus, we need a Punter very badly. I think Frost is psssibly the worst punter we've had in 3 decades -- seriously!
The guy does nothing but pooch punt the ball, even when he's at our 20 yard line -- the Browns cut him for God's sake...

Heck, you didn't need last week's game to prove that point, that's a just a fact of life in the NFL. Give an NFL quarterback time to beat you and he will. I agree that the ability to generate a pass rush solely from the D line has been the one thing this defense has sorely lacked. Blitzing the linebackers has made the Skins vulerable to big gains on screens to backs who are wide open in the flat. I think people tend to underestimate the value of Griffin on that line. Regarding the offseason I agree the Skins need a wideout and defensive lineman but I think the third most pressing need is offensive line depth. It's such an integral part of this team's success that it should always be at the forefront of the team's plans IMO.
RIP Sean Taylor
