Im thinking about taking my grandfather to the game. The walking doesn't worry me as much as the constant standing. Do you guys think it'd be a good idea? I guess he'd still be able to see the jumbotrons if everyone is standing but I'd like for him to be able to see the field.

How old is your pap?
People may not remember exactly what you did
or what you said....

~BUT~
they will ALWAYS remember how you made them feel.

Chris the only thing that needs to be asked is - "Is he a redskins fan"

Every true fan should go to a game at least once even if its just for the experience

You regulars who get to go each home game dont realise how much our one game attendance means to us fans who live further away or are unable to go due to mobility problems.

Take him - I am sure he will appreciate it

I dont you understand the issue. I want him to go. I know he'd want to go. I was just asking for opinions no how well he'd fare. I dont tihnk he can handle standing up thru most of the game. I want him to enjoy himself if he goes. Its a lot of walking and wut not so Im just trying to gauge the situation.

my mom (73) used to go....but it got to be too much for her. the walking was a prolem. once we got to the seats she was okay though. i would say your grandfather will be honest and let you know if it would be too much. just ask him. as for standing....you know from experience to see whats going on he will probably have to stand a lot.

You'd probably whack him in the head with an elbow during your cheering fits.
Best place for him ? In front of the TV.

At the game against the Pukes, I sat in front of an elderly man, and, I promise you, he tapped me on the shoulder at least seven times because he couldn't see. Now, being "The Redeemed One", I didn't make an issue about it to him, and I tried my best to appease this guy's request, but it became difficult as the game wore on, and people were standing and stuff.

I wouldn't want your pap to sit behind someone who won't be as kind in responding to the prodding. However, if he's a Skins fan, and he's never been to FedEx, Saturday will be a perfect day to take him.

There is an older guy who sits behind me......I told him that I'm sorry, but I get a little excited sometimes if you need me to sit down just ask. Its a pain.....everytime the Redskins make a big play I have to remember to stay seated. But, After about the second quarter or so it kind of becomes a habit. Bring him, HE'LL LOVE IT!

There is an elderly couple behind Scott's dad seats. They love the games and they don't mind if we jump up for a sec but they love the game you can just tell. I'm with Terri, ask him, he'll tell you if he thinks it might be too much. And remember the parking situation for most of us walking is involved in that, so he might not want to go if you don't have a parking pass.

Chris, the blue lot (the pass included) is a pretty far walk. I don't mind it but being totally honest, if walking is tough, he might be pretty worn out by the time he gets to the stadium. This is why a lot of times we drive with our friends who have a green lot pass. Furthermore, waiting in line in security getting inside involves a lot of standing and waiting. I wish I could have hooked you up with my dad's green lot pass (they're actually my FIL's other seats a section over in 114) but it's already spoken for... One option and what we did last week is you'll see scalper's on the side of the road... we traded our blue lot pass and 20 bucks for an Orange pass. I had to talk him down from 60 but he eventually bit on it. My FIL is going to upgrade his blue pass to green or orange next year.

I don't mean to sound negative about bringing him at all - like most people said, once he gets inside, I'm sure he'll enjoy it but there will be A LOT of walking and standing.

I think Terri and Niki are also right, just be honest with him and ask him if he'd be up for it.
The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.

No, I didn't take him. I didnt know if I'd be able to make it to the metro in time. I had a blue lot parking pass and that would have been toooo far of a walk for him. I took my g/f and we had to stand up for most of the game which I dont mind but I would have hated for him to have to do that, if he could. Plus we had some idiot with a science project sized cardboard display infront of us who wanted to keep it up during game play.

I think Ill try to land some club level tickets for him.
