You're right about my being happy getting my news here - that suits me. I have found the media to be so wrong so often that I'm just going to wait for these guys at THN to "filter" it for me. Most times the "filtered" stuff is so correct and to the point that it suits me but I think everyone should get their "info" from wherever suits them.
Hey! If you find that the info you're getting is better than the complete and unbiased coverage that we at THN are privy to, then feel free to share it here, BUT, if I can show you that most of the time that drivel is not worth the time or space I will enjoy correcting you.
I think Williams has made it abundantly clear on numerous occasions and as aptly "reported" by a number of our STAFF, that he is staying. Why does anyone think any different? All I need to know is where does this come from and if it's from any member of the media, please identify where and when. It is BS!
Keep Gregg Williams

But you haven't show me that Wise's article is drivel. You just say that it is "B.S.", and completley dismiss it.
From Wise's column:
At least five teams, through intermediaries, have contacted Williams, the Redskins' assistant head coach-defense, about taking over their NFL franchise next season.
Perhaps you would like to share some of the evidence that proves that Mike Wise is full of it? Or would you like one of the staff members to do that work for you as well?
I'm bored, I'm broke, and I'm back.

I can't prove this, but I've seen, heard, or read that Gregg is going to consider every offer.
Basically saying it wouldn't be right to him or his family not to.
But it does seem(atleast to me) that he plans on staying.
Plus do you think he wants to leave his favorite player?(Sean Taylor) Heck No.
From Gregg's fan chat:
Thank you for bringing the 'Capital Punishment' back to our beloved Redskins. My question is echoed by thousands of Skins fans. Can you find it in your heart to stay here and take over for Gibbs after he leaves or goes upstairs? We as Skins fans are starving for stability and continuity and you would bring that. Not to mention, stability would let you hit the ground running. You are a big reason that we have legitimate hope for this season and beyond! Also, not to make you feel guilty, but I'm sure your children would love to finish school here.
I don’t know if you remember or not, but I met you after the Pittsburgh/Washington Pre-season game. You signed a football and hat for me! I then pleaded for you to stay in DC and you said that you have no urge to leave and your children are in school here and love the area. My question is will you please ignore any head coaching offers?
Gregg has a chance to be the head coach of the best franchise in the NFL, and part of the best rivarly in the NFL.
The comment I like the most is that he has already been a head coach and he is not in any rush to get that title again.
I don't think he is going anywhere.

Gregg Williams wrote:Well, the Williams family loves living here in Virginia and it’s a great place for my family to be right now. I’m not very far from Princeton University where my son plays college football and my two other children love living here and love the school districts that they participate in. We enjoy being Washington Redskins, and we enjoy living in the Nation’s Capital, one of the most powerful cities in the world. So it would have to be something very, very extreme for me to leave the Redskins or finally, if Dan Snyder gets tired of Gregg Williams and asks me to leave (laughs). But if you look at my coaching history, in 25 or 26 years of coaching, I’ve only moved 4 times and that’s relatively amazing in the coaching world. In fact, the first organization I was with, the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans, I was there for 11 years and only moved on for a head coaching opportunity, and its not that important for me any more to have the head coaching title. The most important thing to me in my career right now is that my family’s happy. These three questions I have to be able to answer a ‘yes’ to, and that’s ‘what am I doing?’, ‘where’s it at?’, and ‘who’s it with?’, and all three of those are definite pluses and yes’s right now in my coaching career, and I really enjoy being a Redskin.

I do remember this gentleman ... and again, like I said, my family really enjoys living here. I do have to take a look at every opportunity that comes along for the betterment of my family, but I can tell you that being a Washington Redskin right now is the most important thing on our minds, because we want our kids to finish school here and enjoy having roots here in Virginia and the Washington DC area. It'll be easy---I can say no and I will say no. I said no last year to opportunities to be a head coach again.

My evidence is the way the Washington Post employees some of whom think they are sportswriters, have treated the Redskins and the Redskins organisation this year. This is accepted by most as being extremely biased against our team.
I do not know what Williams will do it's just that he has given every indication that while he owes it to his family to consider all opportunities he has indicated that it would have to be an opportunity that he cannot refuse and I just think that for the next year (despite the great offers) he will stay here.
That is just my opinion and the reason I'm "reacting" is that we have just won an incredibly important game and have another on our plate and some here are examining so many "items" that, IMO, we should be having a blast and we get a lot of negativity and stuff that I think can wait for the season to finish.
We are at a place we haven't been for so many years and we should be enjoying the scenary not wondering if it's really hot in Australia at this time of year or some other piece of useless information.

Thanks for the snide remark about the staff at THN too!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Here it is folks!!!!
Redskins get deep in the playoffs maybe Super Bowl next year. Joe Gibbs moves up to the front office after that season and GW steps in as Head Coach.
Remember, Joe Gibbs went right after GW when he was hired. I don't think that Gibbs would go after this guy and this guy would quickly accept without some sort of plan on the back side. I believe that plan is that Gibbs will be HC for 3-4 years then step down and GW is prompted to HC. That way, it ensures that we maintain continuity throughout the coaching staff in alot of areas and our defense/offense doesn't go major turnover again. GW may have to replace Buge's and/or Blache (??) and that would be it.

Sean Taylor - 1983-2007 R.I.P.... Forever A Skin.....
I personally would be surprised if Williams left. It's not like good head coaching jobs really open up. You usually have to do some rebuilding which tends to take a couple years. Gibss/Williams have already done significant rebuilding for the Skins franchise over the past two years. Chances are that Williams would not be coaching a team as good as the Skins are right now for another two years and that's if everything went well. During that same timeframe, he could very well be taking over a well-oiled Redskins machine and carrying on tradition of greatness from Gibbs. You think he doesn't realize that?
I guess I could see him taking the KC job if it were offered to him, but other than that, it seems like it would be a bad move for Williams.

The idea that Mike Wise, a columnist, has a personal anti-Redskins bias that is so extreme that he would write a column about Gregg Williams leaving without any real knowledge of the fact specifically to stir up trouble is just ridiculous.
But even without that, the Washington Post is not the only puplication reporting this story. Or does the Kansas City Star have an anti-Redskins bias as well?

None of us are on the team. Our discussing Gregg Williams isn't going to cause a distraction. If you don't want to talk about a pretty important event in the Redskins' future, fine, stay out of the thread. But coming in here, labeling people's sources as "B.S." without offering any shread of proof whatsoever and then accusing people of being bad fans because we aren't properly celebrating the Cowboys victory or properly preparing for the Giants game (whatever that means) is completely out of line.
I'm bored, I'm broke, and I'm back.
For us fans, properly preparing for the Giants game means loading up on snacks, getting set to make chili, grill steaks, drink lots of lovely cold beverages and scream your lungs out, either at the game or at home in the comfort of your own living room! Fortunately, the victory against the Cowboys was big enough that the celebratory festivities should finally wind down sometime around Thursday afternoon, just in time to gear up for the Saturday game.
And I believe firmly that Gregg Williams will be here for more than a few years!
