If you want realtime PS3 footage download the MGS4 movie and demo. Its all real time and was being controlled by Hideo. Snakes mustache in MGS4 has more vertices in it than an entire enemy in MGS3.

From what I've seen so far MGS4 looks very impressive. I wouldn't expect anything less from Hideo. The very first Metal Gear on the 8 bit Nintendo was a great game and he hasn't disappointed since. But its not running on the final hardware and the game isn't finished.

Kojima also makes reference to Metal Gear Solid 4 in his latest entry. He states that's a new system, which he refers to under the code name of "XXXX," has been implemented in the game's development environment. Apparently, upon seeing this new system, the Kojima Production staffers exclaimed "Aah, now this is next generation!". This new system, if implemented correctly, will give the game a different flavor from Metal Gear Solid, and will "likely be an industry first," Kojima adds.

Chris, link me on the demo. I want to see this. I can't find anything but trailers and Hideo interviews.

Also, I will probably set up my live account in the next couple of weeks. If you're down for some online Madden, lets do it. Redskins vs. Redskins, I will take you down! By the way, what is your take on the 360 version? I had to switch all of the buttons back to what I'm used to. If I had to describe it I'd say it's like Madden and the NFL2K series combined. I like it.

Id be lying if I said I dont favor the PS over Xbox but I own them all except the GC which is too kiddy for me. Im a fan of games at the end of it all so Ill buy wuteva has the games I like.

Yeah the demo is hot. They change stuff like the lighting shadows, blurring, depth of field and stuff like that in realtime. The cool thing about MGS demo wasn't the graphics but moreso the atmosphere. The tint of the light the sun casts, the swirling dust, it all adds to it. The actualy models weren't anything that more impressive than wut could be done on the 360.

I liked 2k5 but I never thought of this 360 version being a mixture although it'd make sense since some of the VC team works for EA now. Id say the running game is a bit more ESPN like in that it actually works . Running in Madden 2005 was a chore and was not fun at all. The passing game seems to have gotten mixture of 2K and Madden. Madden on my PS2 felt like U could fit the ball anywhere. 2K5 on my Box felt like we were playing on the moon with the floatly ball flight physics. This seems like a happy medium, maybe a bit more or the floaty side. It doesn't bother me tho.

The AI is still a problem. You REALLY have to throw the ball like 100 times before the AI stops being a physic and putting 8 guys in the box when you want to run. Its stupid when I choose a running game out of a 4 WR set and the AI runs a 4-3 because it can cheat. Yea, Yea, I know I can audible out but its still stupid and its not realistic.

I have an XBOX 360 and it's awesome but I'm looking forward to the PS3 a lot more. This is just a holdover. I always liked PS2 games a lot more and from all I have seen the XBOX 360 is actually selling worse in Japan than the original did:

That sucks because that is going to have a huge influence on how responsive Japanese developers are going to be. Even if it is easy to program for the 360, Japanese designers are going to specialize into the PS3 and then it will be hard to port those titles over. You know the PS3 will be wildly popular here and in Japan while it looks like the 360 is having trouble over there so I think the PS3 will be better overall.

Huge? I wouldn't say huge. Sony still owns 50%+ of the market share but MS has definately made themself a mainstay.

However the ONLY reason MS survived is because of its deep pockets, I dont have the reports on my PC but you wouldn't believe how much money the loss on each xbox.

They own 50% of the market because they are a better known brand, and they have license agreements with certain manufacturers that XBOX doesnt have. XBOX has more quality games, but Sony has more quantity. The bottom line.... Ford sells more cars than Mercedes, but which would you rather have???

Quality as far as graphics maybe, but as far as gameplay and content PS2 has way more qaulity games than X-box.

I don't know about that. What does the XBOX have that the PS2 doesn't? Halo, that's it. Now let's look at PS2 - GTA (at least they come out six months earlier), Grand Turismo, Tekken, Katamari, God of War, MGS and the list goes on and on. There is no comparison, there are A LOT more good games for PS2 than for XBOX. Halo isn't anything special anyway, it's just a really good FPS. It's not like its a groundbreaking game or anything. XBOX games are nowhere near as good as PS2 games, they may have better graphics but that's it.
