Redskins Player of the Year dinner tonight...

Post by hkiss444 »

Is anyone going? I'm excited this year's nominees:
Sean Taylor, Marcus Washington, Santana Moss, and Mark Brunnell. How Brunnell goes over Portis has me scratching my head. It's always a great event.

What? Portis isn't in there :hmm:

I mean, I love Sean Taylor and all, but I still think Portis has had the best year of everyone and should definately be that MVP.

Where's the dinner? Tysons Corner?

What a joke. Nothing against any of those guys but Portis is definitely the player of the year. He does everything....run, block, etc. and has emerged as a leader on this team. If they were giving out an mvp for defense I would go with Sean Taylor along with Portis but to keep Clinton of this list is a total joke. Noodle arm Brunell but no Portis :hmm:

I'm guessing Marcus Washington wins; maybe Santana.

I think it's absurd to give Player of the Year honors before the end of the season, it can only hurt us, and could be divisive...I say hold the pats on the back until we're in the playoffs. Beat Dallas.

I agree, good point. There's no point in "pointing" fingers at who's the best or the worst until the season's over.

Unless we're talking about WHarris, of course.

I think Moss has to win this hands down. Without him at the beginning, our whole season woulda been toast.

The winner is......Marcus Washington.
Santana Moss and Sean Taylor were no shows, I think they wanted to make sure it went to one of the attendees.

Marcus Washington was so humble, loved his speech after receiving the award. He said he was talking to friends when he was nominated and said he never wins award. Marcus said he is the blue collar guy that comes to work and does his job, doesn't normally get the accolades.

Ray Brown attended and recognized for his 20 years in the NFL. I was amazed to see how much a locker room leader he is for this team.

Some Ex-Redskins in attendance; BMitch, Doc Walker, Pat Fisher, Charlie Taylor, Roy Jefferson, Virgil Seay, Gary Clark, Darryl Grant, Mike Bragg, Raleigh Mackenzie.

Pretty good evening.

Brunell has had a mediocre year at best. Portis should definately be there. For some reason we have extra patience for Brunell why I dont know?
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!
