No silly. It was Mark Brunell who handed those balls off and who cheered properly during special teams plays.
Maybe I've missed it but I've never seen Brunell cheer for anything. It's usually guys like Portis that get excited when we make a big play. A little for energy and leadership from Brunell wouldn't hurt. If he can't make plays then atleast contribute by providing some veteran leadership to the team.

I know we have injuries, but every other team seams to be able to do it against us... even with subs, like in Tampa when wew got burned by a backup rookie receiver... Jacobs is supposed to have all that speed and his been here 3 years and still can't get open...
Yeah this bothers me also, a lot. Yeah, we don't have a good number 2 receiver, but then again, we do have other options.
One thing I notice about Brunell is his play fakes are the laziest I've seen. Dunno why, but that really annoys me.

Sorry, I forgot this at the end ->

What I saw yesterday was Ramsey running on the field saluting the defense on key stops. I also noticed Ramsey come on the field to help take Samuels off the field. I'm not saying that he should start next week b/c I think that he hasn't had the playing time this year for such an important game but I do think that this week we should get him some reps just in case ol man goes down this Sunday.
If Brunell is hurt, I wish he would be the "team" ahead of his "ego" and tell Gibbs he may not be the best QB for the team right about now. Come on, Mark! If you don't think you can't give us 100%, speak up....be honest...and let someone know!

Wishful thinking. Brunell wont even admit that he was hurt last season.
Got to stick with Brunell for now, but his play over the last several weeks gives cause enough to take a really good look at Campbell in the offseason.
Well after watching the highlights, it was clear that 2 of those INT's were not Brunells fault.
First one, ball was bobbled.
second one.
I agree with those who say ey ran the wrong route up near the goal line. If you see a slow motion replay, you'll see that cool runs the sland and was splitting the defenders, Brunells lets the ball go and and ey decides to kind of stutter step and go behind the defender instead, it was too late. The reciver was between him and the ball and that was that. It looked like ey changed his mind and wanted a higher pass in the back of the endzone.
Don't matter where you are.... YOU'RE IN REDSKINS COUNTRY!

Good point. We do need him now so I am just going to say I hope he plays better. Its pretty simple right. Cut the mistakes and try throwing to your other options other than Moss and ey since theyre being doubled most of the time. Hey lets go skins three in a row or we dont go. Battle is going down Skins and the Boys ooooooh weeeeee!!!!!!!
Has anyone heard anything about Thrash?? With Thrash back in the lineup, Brunell will have another reliable target to get this offense out of its rut. Keep in mind, too, that Sunday's game won't be about finesse. I don't see big plays being given up, other than yet another fluke Pukes flea-flicker, so, even if Mark doesn't put up huge numbers, our RBs will get the job done --- not in lieu of a passing game, but as part of the strategy.
I just want to say that it's not all Brunell's fault on the INT's.What I have been seeing during the game is Brunell not scrambling anymore and that just makes me think that he is hurt.I Watched some of the old clips from the first four games and it just looked like a different Q.b. out there.Brunell had major zip on the ball and could scramble!!!
I have been noticing that he just takes big hits and doesn't even throw the ball. Even that is not a safe bet given his proneness to fumble. He is now the weak link on this.
BTW, did anyone notice Brunell putting chapstick in the post game interview in the locker room?
I'm sure Gibbs (and the QB's coach) understand the importance of winning games right now and are going to use the QB that gives them the best chance to win the game. That is where we are and that is what got us here!
Being the "homer" that I am - I'm glad that Gibbs is picking the QB for this team and I am looking forward to the game this week.
I think we have some concerns at QB right now but to me there are more important issues - we just have to improve our tackling and take away any long runs this w/e.
I do not believe our QB's are going to be the reason we lose a game, right now.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Brunnel injured or not, Ramsey needs to get more reps at practice during the remaining weeks. I have a bad feeling about Cowboys game and our qb. They are going to be coming at him with everything, hope he's still standing in the end.

I totally disagree. Our problem is the offense and it has been the problem this season regardless of how much they've improved. Improvment doesn't make them stellar it just makes them better than they were last year which wasn't hard to accomplish. This defense has kept us in EVERY game. They all need to step up but to give the offense a pass after that weak performance yesterday is crazy. They only scored one time. Thats really bad.

amen. i think the defense has had a few bad games (tampa, for example), but almost every defense does. the offense was better earlier in the year but make no mistake- it is just as bad as 2004 at this point. there MUST be a DRASTIC change next year--
#1: NO MORE BRUNELL! that can not even be debated. if gibbs insists on playing brunell again next year, he should be fired (that's right, i said it!!!)
#2: along with a QB who can actually, you know, THROW, we need to get a real offense that actually throws, you know, passes. by that i mean REAL passes, not 2 yard dump-offs over and over and over and over and over (those plays are great, but not as the ONLY plays!)
Here is a post from another Skins forum. This is from a guy who attended the game.
Going into the game, I made a concerted effort to watch our receivers (particularly Jacobs) to get to the bottom of the problem of our anemic passing offense. There are something you can see at the game - and on the sidelines - that you cannot appreciate on TV (ie. wide receiver patterns and coverage).
Given the "general" blame that has been spread (pass protection, defensive pass protection - double coverage, Jacobs' lack of talent, etc)... I figured it was a worthwhile focus.
Here's what I noticed. If I was going to place blame on ANYBODY about our passing offense... I'd put it on 2 things:
(2) Joe Gibbs. Not so much playcalling... but play design. The passing routes of our receivers are basic. You see any slants? Crossing patterns? Picks? Isolating matchups? Never.
Our receivers line up and run simple in-routes, out-routes and go-routes. As a BIG surprised yesterday... Jacobs single 7-yard completion was a comeback route. The same route he ran when he dropped (ie. defensed) the second time.
Yesterday, the Card defense yesterday was PRIME to attack via the passing game. Almost 70% of the game they were in 1-deep coverage. Corners playing man and 1 safety deep providing coverage over top.
Do you think they were rolling the safety to Moss? Nope. Common misperception.
Defenses have found "keys" in our passing game. It seemed they were always correctly rolling the saftey to the correct side.
Cornerbacks are playing 10 yards off of our receivers and turning and playing the go-route all the way. That's why our receivers aren't getting behind anyone.
(1) Mark Brunell. You want to stop him? Roll coverage to his throwing side.
Watch Brunell. He's very uncomfortable in the pocket. He won't stay in there long to deliver a pass or let pass plays develop. That's why he's running the ball.. or rolling out for passing and completing passes underneath.
We could have had Brad Johnson for nothing if we wanted a QB who will prioritize the check-downs.
He doesn't even look at the opposite side of the field... even when there's single coverage out there nearly 60% of the time. Moss and Jacobs each rotated to Brunell's right side... way outside.. and drew single coverage. Brunell didn't look their once.
It's a shame... but Mark is using half the field. And the defense is playing zone in between the hashmarks and the sidelines. That's why even if the Redskins player catches the ball... he's met immediately by defenders and taking hits. No YAC yards.
And 2 of Brunell's interceptions yesterday were literally thrown to a spot were our receivers weren't. Not even close.
