The Bandwagon!

Post by Chris Luva Luva »

Ive been harping all season long about the bandwagon. Ive been driving this thing for weeks now and many people have fallen off. I wont lie to you, I've almost nodded off while at the wheel but with Redeemed constantly kicking the back of my seat where would I be? Its crunch time folks. The elder hogs on this site have been running damage control for weeks now trying to keep most of you from jumping off wagon. Clearly someone disengaged the child safety locks during the bye week and you rug rats have been bailing out ever since.

Its almost Saturday and we can all feel the intensity and the butterflies in our stomachs. The anticipation of this game and what it means to this season are enormous. None of our other games matter except for this one. This is our 1st superbowl this season(subliminal messaging). We have to tackle this game. A win is a win but we need to control this game. This where the bandwagon comes into play. I said earlier this year that we weren't stopping and waiting for the weak hearted. We dont want those of you who wont hop on and believe 100% just because you want to have some crow to serve during the offseason, we dont need you on this wagon buddy. We have the Girls, Midgets, and team TO hating us, we dont need hate from within.

This is my proposition. This is the last stop. This is a chance you have to take, think of this as Santas list. The bandwagon is pulling back in for repairs, Redskin1 can't read a map to save his life, Jake's attention is "spaced" out  and DCD is hot on our trail after "THE FALL FROM GRACE" . Im willing to let you guys get back on this wagon. This is your time to come in here and get excited for these Skins. Pledge your allegiance and dedication in this thread.

The superbowl, I don't know about that. I am hoping for 9-7, I would like to see us have our first winning record in years.

I will be happy with a winning season, and a sweep of Dallas. But I am cheering and hoping for the playoffs. If we make it to the SuperBowl I will orgasm in pure delight.

Gee, thanks :P
I am super pumped about this team and the direction we are headed in. But Im not sure about winning the superbowl just yet. Hey if we do then great! And if we make the playoffs we can definatly be very very dangerous. But Just because I dont think we are quite there yet doesnt mean im any less of a skins fan (my debit card can attest to that). And believe me im definatly not a pessimistic hater. I hope to god im dead wrong, and if so I'll gladly eat my words. That being said... Im down to ride this train!

Im not asking for that. I want to know if you guys are on the bandwagon or not. Are you supporting this team regardless of the outcome? Theres no room for doubt, its time to support this team and believe in them.

chris, i appreciate your undeniable passion for the 'skins. however, i feel that we have different methods of expressing "support". it seems that for you, support is characterized by belief, faith, encouragement, etc. i think that is great, the team needs fans like you.

however, i don't believe i give any less support to the team, just a different kind of support. to me, recognizing and addressing problems is imperative. i love the 'skins, i want nothing more than for them to succeed. so when i see a problem, i can't help but [over]analyze it, because i feel that a great way to help is for everyone to get together and figure out what's wrong and what might be done to fix it.

obviously, it is sort of futile, since we don't exactly have joe gibb's phone number. we can't really give him a ring and let him know what we think we've figured out. but then again, faith and encouragement are not even going to register with the team unless you are fortunate enough to be at the stadium on game day, screaming your lungs out.

hope that made any sense. in any case, i believe we can (and should) win out and win the division. there is really no excuse to lose to AZ or the horrifically depleted egirls. which means the only real competition should be NY and dallas. i simply refuse to believe we will lose to NY again. the last game was a complete fluke, The Curse of Wellington Mara, and karma/the football gods/whatever will balance out the absurd amount of things that went their way in that game. the giants are fraudulent, eli manning is fraudulent, and we will expose them.

in my mind, the dallas game is the superbowl. we just HAVE to beat them, and complete the oh-so-precious sweep!!!

Dude, check me out in last weeks gameday thread. I dont wear Burgundy glasses, I harp on this team a lot. I think I even started this thread out with that statement. You can do your thing and still support this team. I want Royal cut but until this season is over Im rooting for him till I turn blue. Just because Brunell is having some off throws Im not going to boo him Sunday. We can be critical of the team in the offseason, lets be supportive of them now. Not only on this board but at the games.

This isn't just for this board. This for gameday too. This thread isn't meant to call nobody out. I posted the pictures and stuff to hype people up. I dont want a somber tone for this thread. I want people in here talking trash and getting ramped up.

By your choice of words it seems like you and I have the same faith.

The Dallas game wont matter if we dont beat AZ. This season isnt over yet, if it was over I'd agree. This season is bigger than dallas. We're used to succumbbing to only beating Dallas to have a meaningful season.

If we make the playoffs...which I think we will...it will be a series of very interesting games...We've beaten the two top seeds in the NFC..the Seahawks and the Bears...anything could happen. The Bears have a Rookie QB...and if we had to play them, we have a great chance..

We just seem to match up well with the Seahawks...not that we're a better team, but we matchup against their strengths very well..they are good at running the ball...we are great at stuffing the run...they are not very strong in run defense, while their pass defense is better...we run the ball better than we pass it.

Anything can happen. The only other team that I think gives us trouble is Carolina because they are very balanced and also have a good Defense...other than that....there is no team that is hands down better than us in my opinion.

Exactly, this game is the only game of the season right now. We can't give Warner, Boldin and Fitzgerald any opportunities to tie or take the lead late with their offense.

Nope. We're still here, and we don't care about the playoffs. Just beat the Cardinals.

For the record, No matter what I say, Im a Redskins fan for my whole life. I want playoffs and hopefully another Superbowl. Frankly im tired of the mediocrate in DC, but no matter what i might say I am a fan. Living in Southern Ontario Canada, Its hard for me surrounded by Cowboys fans(especially when we only beat them twice in the last 8 years)Bills fans, Patriots and uncharacteristacly Broncos fans. Burgendy and Gold will always be my colours, and from time to time Blue and White for the mighty Maple Leafs.

i don't know if i think that's true except for maybe the last game against the rams. lately the passing has looked pretty lousy though, so you're probably right. and please, no one tell me about how the passing was great in the rams game. no. it was absolutely terrible for a good chunk of the game, it only started getting good once we had been pounding the run down their throats for a while and they had to overdo the run support.

CLL, a week ago my wife and I took a reconaissance trip to the Detroit Metro Area and neighboring Windsor, Ontario Canada. I have recomeendations on where to stay, (the Hampton Inn on Provincial Rd 3 still has rooms available), where to dine (the Vintage Goose in Kingsville), and where NOT to buy airport food (Detroit Metro Airport). I'm all set for a return trip to Detroit. This wagon can TOTALLY make it up there!!!!! You know I'm on the bandwagon.

Riding comfortably in the 'hump' seat...

It's okay to be frustrated...it's not okay to completely lose faith. We've already shown growth from last year's squad, and can only continue to climb.

*** Intrigued on the playoff possiblities/matchups. I also agree that we can beat anyone any given Sunday. Coaching has to be on point and the players need to execute verbatim. Period.

I'm not only "on", I'm inside! And I am not sitting on the aisle, I'm at the window looking out at some who are still wondering if we're going to be a better team this year than we were last year (we already are  ) and trying to find all sorts of reasons why we shouldn't be here!

Hail! - Let's get this baby movin'!

We just need to win this game, this week.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

How many bandwagons do we have?

I guess I'm on. . .but I think this is my 4th one since joining THN. Do we have a problem with our bandwagons breaking down? Do we upgrade to the newer models? Are we on schedule to have the new and improved bandwagon out on time so we can use it for the playoffs?
