Division or Wild Card for real

Post by DarthMonk »

If the Giants lose another we can catch them. Otherwise we need some wild card help. Schedules and predictions:

Atlanta has Saints, @Bears, @Bucs, and Carolina. They'll lose at least one.

Vikings have Rams, Pitt, @Ravens, and Bears. They'll lose at least one.

Bucs have @Carolina, @New England, Atlanta, and @Saints. They'll lose at least two.

We need to catch 2 of these teams.

Vikes may have easiest go of it. Bucs might be in trouble.
We probably have a better chance of winning out than any of these guys. LET'S DO IT!

if we win out, i think we have a good shot at a wild card. the other teams in the hunt most likely will have a worse record in the conference than us.

we have to win out first, though.

If we win out we will win the division. If we lose one then we have a shot at the wildcard. Lose two and its all but mathmatecally impossible.

I don't think it really matters what the other teams do as long as we take care of business in our last 4 games.

They are 1-3 on the road this year btw, 2-3 if you count their game against Saints as a "road" game.

Yeah. In fact, what I nce thought would be a tough game for the Gints, just got easier, with the Eagles' loss of Brian Westbrook. Seems like all is going well for the NFL's planned Manning-Manning Super Bowl. :puke:

We will play a HUGE role in derailing those plans, and hopefully the Chiefs will, as well.

Assuming we win this weekend, I'll likely start tracking our playoff scenarios on the main page.

I'll be sure to post a link each week.

9-7 still gets us in most likely.
1 y-Seattle W 10-2-0
2 Chicago N 9-3-0
3 Carolina S 9-3-0
4 N.Y. Giants E 8-4-0
5 Tampa Bay S 8-4-0
6 Dallas E 7-5-0
7 Atlanta S 7-5-0
8 Minnesota N 7-5-0
9 Washington E 6-6-0
10 Philadelphia E 5-7-0

Even if we end up 9-7 and tied with Dallas, Atlanta or Minnesota, we win the tie break in all cases and would get the second wild card.
But it starts with one win. All we have to do is win.

Thats assuming the season ended today. In the NFC South a bunch of those teams contendind, Atlanta, Carolina, Tampa play each other coming up so its highly unlikely that 2 of them end up with 7 losses.

10-6 should be a lock...9-7 is possible, but I'd be a late X mas gift b/c so many other variables would have to happen.

your right I cant lie. Hey Im dreaming of a playoff berth as well.Hey there is a legit chance the skins totally control theyre destiny. All I ask from the team is that they play theyre hearts out and give 100 percent and I will be happy Im sure if the skins can do that then we are headed to the playoffs.

In all likelihood the Giants will have the division clinched when we play them because the Cowboys will have lost another game, so that game we should win because we will be playing a lot of the second stringers. But, with that being said that still leaves us with the Cowboys who always seem to beat us atleast once a year usually twice. The Eagles we should win and the Cardinals may actually give us some trouble with that offense but we should win. If we beat the Cowboys in two weeks we make the playoffs. But I can just see us losing one of these games and being left out by one game because the Bucs have a tiebreaker over us. I'll keep my fingers crossed though.

I had a dream last night the Skins beat the Giants in overtime. The final score was 17-16, which obviously makes no sense. Not sure what it means as I am not a clairvoyant, but all I have to say is "go Skins!" and "go KC"

As promised (although a week early), here is the first write-up on the Redskins playoff picture.

It will be more helpful as the season winds down. Too much speculation now to be very accurate.
