Four Points and a Hold...

Post by SkinsHead56 »

I know this is crying over spilled milk so to speak, but allow me vent some frustration with people who actually know what I'm feeling. I was just looking at the NFC standings for the post season. The Skins are exactly 4 points (1 to Tampa, 3 to the Raiders, and one holding call vs. San Diego) from being the number 2 seed in the NFC behind Seattle. This is the foundation for a Superbowl run next year. I am not abandoning hope for this season at all. The Skins can win the last four games of the season, but they will have to play mistake free ball, and generate some pass rush without blitzing. Let's hope the Skins can pull it out and make the playoffs. They will be a dangerous team in single elimination play.

Yep, that's the difference between a average taem and a very good team. As I have said numerous times Gibbs is changing a culture, it doesn't come overnight!

It's a rare ocurrence whenever a team plays a game mistake-free. Joe is teaching this team to strive for thaat rare level of play, where a team can overcome and/or limit the mistakes made on the field, in order to always out themselves in a position to win the game. Case in point, the Brunell fumble-tip-outta-the-end-zone play. In year's past, our team would have given up a touchdown, but this team is learning to play heads up football, and down the stretch and into the playoffs, that will be key.

These frustrations have come every week for us bud. The small margin in which we lose tears at all of our hearts everytime we see it. We just have to be the 12th man everyday, keep our heads up, and have faith in our team and in turn they will improve. Just keep the faith bro.

I think that this team will turn the corner next year. However, please keep in mind that it might not be with GW running the defense. There will be alot of vacancies coming up in the off-season and I know that GW has said that he will stay but the lure of a HC job and money may be to much for him to handle. Unless......... The ultimate plan is that Gibbs steps up to front office after next season and GW is made the HC...

While this is true, I find the fact that we are one CORRECT call on the 2 point conversion against Tampa away from being in first place in the wild card race to be the most troubling thing of all. That's out of our hands and simply not fair.

Tampa Bay better make the playoffs considering how easy their schedule is relative to ours and the fact that the officials have GIVEN them 2 games at home with bad calls, in spite of reviewing them, the game against us and the Lions game.

I am getting tired of talking about how we are going to do next year, I want to start talking about how well we are doing during the current year.

We, as fans, are getting trapped into the Snyder media machine, and spinning ourselves to accpet mediocrity and lack of success as positives. We should hold the team accountable for its lack of production, and expect noting less than what a franchise that charges the highest ticket prices in the NFL expect...Sucess!

You should get what you pay for, and we pay for results!

amen my brother,i,m saying the samething but in a different way.he needs more cooleys, santsnas and c griffins.or even rock cartrights.

we all wish it would happen overnight but if you are to do it right it takes time and knowing what i,ve seen during gibbs first stint here i,m with him all the way to his 4th superbowl title.

patience.

This team has already turned the corner - it's just hard to see it some weeks. No way will Williams be leaving for more money - Danny will simply write a cheque for whatever he wants. I really do believe that he'll be the next head coach of the Redskins, and he'll win a Superbowl.

yes bought we did have breaks especially with Dallas and Seattle in the begging year and Chigcgo was a close game. all three are very high seeded and in the begging of the season we figured they weren't that good!
