Vehicles Broken into at FedEx Field

Post by Redskins1974 »

As if a loss isn't hard enough to deal with when attending games at Fed Ex, now we have to worry about our cars getting broken into. We got back to our green lot parking area, near A-60 and the Morgan Road entrance, where my friends, family and I have been tailgating for at least 5 years, only to discover my friends car window busted out. We looked around found two more cars in the same boat. So, I ran down and got an Fed Ex employee. He was extremely helpful but I was lead to believe this is becomming more of a normal thing. We waited around for a while for my friends but ended up leaving since the Fed Ex guy had it under control. I spoke with them that night and they said the cops did come and they found her purse behind the wooden fence. The cops also indicated that this is becoming a regular thing on game day.

Be careful what is visible in your car when parking. I'm guilty of it at times when attending games, especially when in a rush to get into the game. A group of us, including those directly effected, are going to call and write the Redskins and Fed Ex Field since we do pay a premium price for parking. First of all, I just want to make those aware who regularly attend games. Second of all, if you are concerned and this does piss you off, please call and complain. We pay a lot of money for parking and the game day experience and this is uncalled for...

That's why i saw FedEx guys out by us?? We also saw a guy getting handcuffed for doing something?? Not sure maybe for selling stolen goods. This is becoming more and more of a problem, I saw guys standing at the gates selling T's...and the guy is yelling F Dallas T-Shirt...Great for the kids!!

I think you guys tailgate somewhat close by so I wouldn't dobut it if that was related. I agree - a lot more tee shirt (not kid friendly tee's) and scalpers wandering about. The Fed Ex guy said they find multiple holes the wooden fence after each game and from the sounds of it, multiple car break-ins. He alluded to them trying to address it so I don't know if that meant putting up a new, secure fence or more security. We shall see....

Sorry guys...be careful with your valuables...lock them in the trunk. At least they won't be visible like 1974 said. It's a shame that you can't even feel comfortable with your car in the lot at a game. Isn't there all kinds of security out there even during the game ??

Glad we take Metro - Hope they don't start hitting the Metro stations.

Sorry to hear about your news. We had our car broken into two years ago in the same area. The cops at the time said it was a common occurance, there is a neighborhood on the other side of the fence from the Green lot that people come in and break into cars.

We started parking on the opposite side of the stadium when they moved out seats but suprisingly this sunday the green lot from Arena drive was filled up early. I have never seen the green lot on the Arena Drive side filled by 10:30.
Section 228; seats 5-10

...or the trains.

Sorry about the losses, 1974. Thanks for the heads up.

I girl I used to work with had this happen to her last year. The only thing FedEx Field and the Redskins had to say was, "sorry". They certainly haven't done anything to step up the security, and now with the Morgan street metro station open, anyone can get there and walk right in.
