State of the Redskins
Giants fan here who lives in Maryland and reads the Washingtn Post every day. I have rose colored glases for the Giants, and a fairly neutral view on the Redskins.
In any case, wanted to comment on where the Skins go after they get smoked by Marty, Drew, and LT tomorrow. With all the injuries, Skins can't even put up a fight tomorrow. So. at 5-6 and out of the playoff picture, some observations.
First, Ramsey gets a couple of starts to try to gain Gibbs' confidence. Then, Jason gets 3 in a row to see if he is the QB of the future. Brunell will be gone as soon as the terrible cap hit can be handled. Arrington will be gone as you can't afford his scheduled salaries in future years. Skins will need to draft a WR first, unless neither Ramsey nor Campbell steps up as QB of the future. If neither, top pick will have to be QB. Either pick will be very costly.
Meanwhile, very little bucks available for upgrades elsewhere. Even the highly respected (deservedly so) Joe Gibbs will be hard pressed to deal with this continuing downward spiral.
Beyond that, Eagles will re-group and they have lots of cap space. They will get a replacement for T.O. and will sign some free agents. Dallas is young and getting better, but they too need a QB of the future. Giants have all of their key players locked up through 2008 and have some cap space to work with.
Skins future does not look too bright from my perspective.

I think that both the pukes and your team have a much more difficult end of season run than we do. We could lose this game but it is also not a stretch to think we can win the last 6!
I still am not convinced that either the pukes or NY get more than 9-7 this year and the little birdies are also looking at 8-8 IMO. Unbelievably, we stand a pretty good chance at 10-6 and the NFC East! This is better than most of us thought when we were just hoping to be in the playoffs and now we could win the East!
This is not so much due to our play as it is to the other 3 teams being not very good this year, BUT, we'll take it!

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Ramsey will play if Brunell gets hurt and that's it Campbell won't see the field unless Ramsey goes down too. I don't see that happening this week against the Chargers. Your comments about who the Skins will or should draft have to be a joke. Brunell's cap hit next year is $5.4 million if he's on the roster and the cap hit to release him would be around $5.8 million

As far as the downward spiral goes... that's what Joe walked into that's not what he is dealing with now.

Yeah T.O. was the missing link for them. He was brought in to get them to the big game. He did that, split the team into cliques and is gone however the trophy case only gained more dust. After they replace him they can deal with replacements and fill-ins for everybody else on thier growing IR list

Parcells is playing with smoke and mirrors again. The O-line is starting to look like a revolving door which mens Bledsoe is no more than a Doorman. Since they didn't get the line fixed last off-season. Until they do the QB really won't matter

How far under the 2006 cap will you be? You can't answer because no one knows what the cap will be yet. Also no player is locked up for any amount of time in the NFL (see T.O. and the E-gals.. they had him locked up until 2010).

Who asked for your perspective, besides the view from where you stand sucks. The truth is blocked by the fact that you're a Gints fan, coupled with a lot of wishful thinking. It also comes from you thinking you have a leg to stand on because the Gints are leading the division. Well you don't - there are 6 games left and you don't have a cakewalk for a schedule.
Like someone else pointed out you shouldn't be worried about us until Christmas Eve. We Got something for ya!!
For now you should worry about the

I think they have something for ya too

downward spiral? at this point in the season, here's what our record has been recently:
2002: 4-6
2003: 4-6
2004: 3-7
2005: 5-5
not much progress but it's forward progress at this point. the skins will obviously finish better than last year, and next year will finish better than this year.
