Can we still...
win the NFC East? I know we have lost the last couple of games, and we are hurt physically and mentally, but if the G-strings lose today, we haven't lost any ground in the NFC East. I know, I know, This is wishful thinking but I like to think we have something to play for. Two games out? With games against both teams ahead of us? I think we are still in the race. Call me crazy, but I believe

It is possible but highly unlikely. After all, we are now in LAST PLACE again after the Philly win today.
At least either Dallas or New York will lose next week because they're playing each other. Wait a minute, that means one of them has to win though.
Actually, I give us absolutley no chance. We had chances these last two weeks to catch up with the Giants and Cowboys losing and we blew it both times. We've missed our opportunities now.

There's a very small chance this team has to win the east...but there is still a chance. First, they'll have to run the table and finish 10-6 with an NFC East record of 5-1. If that happens, here's what I see happening for the other NFC East teams.....being overly optimistic:
Giants [Final Record: 10-6, NFC East Record: 4-2]
Cowboys - win
at Eagles - win
Chiefs - loss
at Redskins - loss
at Raiders win
Cowboys [Final Record: 9-7, NFC East Record: 3-3]
at New York Giants - loss
Chiefs - win
at Redskins - loss
at Carolina - loss
St. Louis Rams - win
Eagles [Final Record: 7-9, NFC East Record: 0-6]
Seahawks - loss
Giants - loss
at Rams - win
at Cardinals - win
Redskins - loss
Yes, this is very very optimistic and, frankly, I think there is no chance of this happening. Don't get me wrong. I would love it if it did....but I'm not holding my breath. (If my numbers are wrong here, I fully expect someone to correct me.)

How do you figure we are in last place? If we are tied with the Beagles and hold the TIBEBREAKER?{WE BEAT THEM)!!!

by the end of the year, the skins will finish in last place... mistake after mistake... i know gibbs didnt ask Rabach to commit that holding penalty but no way this team is good enough for the playoffs or finishing with a better than .500 record. sorry folks... time to realize this.

I might agree on no playoffs anymore but I am not ready to agree on last place.patjam77 wrote:by the end of the year, the skins will finish in last place...
There is quite a bit of football to be played.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

i agree.. and you know what RIC.. i should not have made such a statement... i THINK they will finish in last place. the giants are a pretty good team and i doubt the skins will improve much by the time they play them. the cowboys will beat us just because i can't see, again, the skins improving that much more. skins will win maybe 1 more game and that's the cardinals game... but even that will be a fight because the cardinals at home always seem to want to make a lat 4th quarter comeback and that's what is killing this team right now... good teams put teams away and the skins don't know how to do that...
it will be hard for the redskins to finsh higher than last place.

Oh yeah, they're still in it. Two games out with five to play and one against each of the others in the division.
They're also two games out of the WC and, for most of the recent lumps have been against the AFC West. Their NFC record is still a hefty 5-2.
