as much as i want to blame him, Kaeding missed two uncharacteristic kicks. Looks like we are "spoiler" too bad we can't play for the draft or else we would give denver an even better player.

From my angle, I didnt see what happened and was PO'd about the call the rest of the way home anyways but when I got home, I saw that Rabach basically tackled the guy. Stupid decision. He knows better.

Did ANY of you actually see it?? He was not stupid. The contact was incidental at best. Did it cost us the game? Likely, but don't put this on his shoulders. He messed up. No one is perfect and he by far has been given a bad rap. From what I saw it was actually an accident.

Niki, he tackled the guy. It would have been a great play if he was a defensive lineman going after the oppostions running back. The officials called it correctly.

Yeah he accidentally grabbed the guy around the waist and slid down to his feet and pulled him.

I am the first to hate the refs, but that was a blatant call...he held the guy...textbook holding...hands were not inside his shoulder pads..and then as he turned away from him he fell down with his arms around his waist. Thats one of the first little league lessons...if you can't get your hands inside the guys shoulders you have to let him go or you risk getting called for holding, the pull-down just made it obvious.

It was stupid...but in actuality players do that stuff all the time..he just got caught at a critical point in the game.

I do not remember him tackling him. Maybe I'm wrong here but even the announcers said something similar to what I'm telling you guys.
He did NOT tackle the man. Raybach actually fell prior to the flag being thrown.

Watch it over again...trust me if you were right, all of these threads would be about the refs and the vast right-wing conspiracy against us...but this one is not so.

Raybach grabbed the guy around the waist and slid down around his ankles and the guy fell down.

Can't even argue it...that's why everyone else is disagreeing.

While I will hate Rabach for the next 3 days (because that call lost us the game) I will still have respect for him.

He is a solid lead blocker and hasn't had any trouble with handoffs to Brunell.

However he did blow this game.

you can't pick out one play and blame the game on that...let me see...

How about the INT arrington had but missed?
How about our defense letting LT run for 175 yards?
How about Rogers and Harris playing off the WR by 12 yards?
How about the 3 drops by Royal?
How about the ST letting SD run a kickoff to our 45?
How about the crappy punting by Frost - all day?
How about Hall's horrible kickoffs?
How about Gibbs horrible play calling most of the game?
How about Rogers missing the INT?
How about penalties when they hurt?
How about....Game over, we suck...let's fact the facts folks -- we're NOT a good team.

What really pisses me off are folks who want to blame Snyder -- that is the most ridiculous thing in the world...he ain't at fault here...look on the field - players and coaches!

Why is it that we are the only team that gets a holding call in any of our games? I saw a few times redskins players being held and tackled, no flag.

We are not the only team in the league that has holding calls week after week. The problem is that it should never come down to the officials making a call that wins or loses the games for us. We have to put teams away when we have the opportunity. We have to become much more unpredictable on 1st and 2nd down.

As much as Rabach's holding penalty sucked, what was even worse was the playcalling afterwards. Clearly out of field goal range after the penalty, we RAN on the very next play. Why in the world would you call a run in that situation. Time was running out and we obviously needed 10 yards to make it a makeable attempt for Hall.

Rabach held. It'll get called. But the play call on 2nd and 14?
That was the killer.

I can not believe people are saying to use Raymer

I realize this, what I was saying is that in our games our opponents NEVER get called for a holding penalty even when they blatently hold.

Casey did kinda of what the O-lineman from S.D. did to ST on LT's OT TD run.

I love it.... the guy has been solid all year long... takes one admittedly VERy bad penalty... and you're all calling for his head...

Well as long as you're not fickle....

Cory Raymer has always been great to THN... we think the world of the guy... if anyone were going to get behind the 'Cory for starter' bandwagon, it'd be us... but just because Casey made a mistake doesn't mean that you toss him to the wolves IMO. If it were a continual thing, then maybe I'd understand some of the angst... but since it hasn't been, it just comes off as petty and uninformed.

My 2 cents
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

i couldn't agree with you more. i was out of my chair (keep in mind that i was on the road during the game, but tivo'ed it was watching at 1 am) when i saw brunell hand off to portis on 2nd and long. against the number one rushing defense in teh league. it just seems silly.

Iliked the call in that spot...we didn't need a first down and if Portis ripped off a 6-8 yard run followed up by a two or three yarder we're looking at a FG of less than 45 yards. If we had throwm two incomplete passes we wold be saying why...#^%$%&^. The bottom line is the player HAVE to exicute the play that's called!!
