Todays game

Post by skins2357 »

I will agree with everyones posts that the playcalling in the 4th quarter has been to predictable. I mean, I think we could have gone out there and throw a flea flicker to Moss 1st play and completed it after all we do is run on 1st down, but Im not the coach and I still love Joe Gibbs and co, that will never change. One of my biggest problems with today was Robert Royal. This guy cant block, cant run and today he dropped 5 passes, 1 in the 4th quarter that would have been a huge boost and given us a 1st down. Earlier in the game I saw TE names Johnson catch it and make a nice little run. I say we kill Royal(or just cut him) and find anyone else. On the positive side, I thought Carlos Rodgers played very well and should have had 2 ints if they reviewed his 1st one. I thought Washington had a big game and Brunell played well. Sometimes I just wish Brunell would bag these runs in the huddle and call a WR fly pattern and catch everyone off guard. I dont know where we go from here as our season is pretty much over and we cant play for the draft and dont have salary cap room to sign free agents next year but i pray that something clicks at the end of the season and we at least take ourselves out of the laughing stock of the NFL category. Again I love Gibbs and co and will never bash them, but something needs to change and soon.

hey... i didn't get to see this game.

but when I got home, I was surprised that it went into overtime.

I didn't expect a win, The chargers are a very well-rounded team with heaps of talent....and to go into overtime with this team is really something...

I'm happy I didn't see this game, because I would have been really down...after finding out that it was such a close game...and was lost in O/T

The Redskins are warriors though...

The Chargers are a superbowl team. Don't be surprised if u see the Chargers playing in Detroit come February.

When you got home you should have been surprised by a victory.
Instead we fail to close out another one

Trust me, it was pathetic.

The Chargers are not a SuperBowl team. They are our equivalent in the AFC. Really. They mirror us. They do some things pretty well, but nothing really, really well. LT is a perennial All-Pro, and Gates is a monster...but everybody else, we have an answer for. (And we had LT solved until after the half.)
This game was lost by our team, not won by the Chargers. There is no way on this planet that the AFC is represented by the San Diego Chargers in Detriot this year. No way.
End of the day, the lack of a persistent pass rush and more untimely penalties were the cry of the day. We even won the turnover battle, finally, with three picks of Brees.
It wasn't enough. You still have to score more points than the other team, and we couldn't do that.
If it makes you feel better to say that San Diego won because they are so much better than we are, and that they are going to Detroit in the last game of the season, then that's what you'll do. It's an insult to the Colts and Broncos, though.
Good luck with that.
