Ramsey will be here next year.

Post by John Manfreda »

I actually think Ramsey is going to be here next year for one reason. Who is going to trade for a Qb that is in the final year of his contract and doesn't start. Me personally I would rather draft one or sign a veteran. I am perdicting that Ramsey is going to back up and than will be sent packing the next year and sign with another team.

I think there are plenty of teams that think that Ramsey could be a viable starting quarterback and will be looking for somebody in the offseason. The Jets, Dophins, Saints, Browns, Raiders, Cardinals, and Texans come to mind...

The Jets seem to be looking at whoever they can get from the Bolts and I think Houston will blame everything on the coach and let Carr get killed for another year. USC's golden boy will go to one of the other teams. Other QB needed teams will pop up as the season comes to a close, Some teams have realized that there no 2 really isn't a number two and will be looking to upgrade also.

What the market will bring for Ramsey will be a key determinator. If demand is high enough then he's gone, but some will think he's being dumped anyway and will play lowball. If there is low demand for him then I could see him still being around.
They whay things look right now Patrick maybe gone by mid-March My 2 cents

I don't think Gibbs will let him because:
1. By this time he has to know the offense extremely well.
2. The Skins won't get enough in return for him (why should they, he is a back-up), he is worth more to the team as a good back-up than what they could get for him. Not many teams have decent back-ups.

I actually think Brunell may be gone next year, Ramsey comes cheap compared to him next season.

The way Brunell has been playing lately, we may see Ramsey as the starter again this year.

Browns-invested in a third round pick
Jets- Chad Pennington
Dolphins-possibly but with all the Qb's coming out and Nick coming from college, they will want to draft one.
Texans- David Carr
Raiders-There not mad at Kerry.
Saints-Aron Brooks is more accomplished.

YOu did forget though Baltimore, they might.

The Browns Love Charlie Frye.
The Jets are looking, Pennington will not be their starter next year.
Dolphins, definatly looking, but don't they have enough Redskins QB castoffs.
Texans, if Reggie Bush is gone they will draft Matt Leinhart. Carr has got them nowhere, If Dom Capers goes, so might Carr.
Raiders, Kerry Collins will be their starter.
Saints, Aaron Brooks is not as safe as you might think, good QB, but does'nt win and to many mistakes.
Baltimore, For some reason Billick likes Boller, but their offence is going to be changed they need to revamp everything the only safe guys are Ogden. Im not even sure how safe Lewis is.

I don't think Ramsey will start next year, I just think he will back up next year and won't be traded.

If Ramsey is here next year, then we might as well accept another year of mediocrity because trading him is our only hope at getting a draft pick for a Defensive Lineman.

But Gibbs would probably screw that up too (See Desmond Howard and Andre Johnson).

Wow. All those great drafts, and you find two stinkers and call it a career.
You're some kind of fan.

The Jets are concerned because Pennington may have a career ending arm injury. I've also heard they won't be interested in either Bolts quarterback because they're sick of the accurate/weak armed quarterback (which both Brees and Rivers are). I could definately see them being interested in Ramsey, since he's completely out of that mold.

Dolphins, definately. And I think the Saints are sick of Aaron "Mental Mistake" Brooks, though I agree he's much more accomplished than Ramsey. However, this is the NFL, everyone thinks they can absolutely retrain other people's players (good example, see Terrell Owens and the Eagles, and whomever decides to pick him up next year).

You just know teams look at Ramsey and love his arm and toughness (which we all do), and think they can coach him out of his just awful decision making. Good luck on that one...

The idea the Ravens are interested makes me giggle to no end, since they already have Patrick Ramsey. He wears a Kyle Boller jersey for them, though.

He's such a ray of sunshine! Plus, someone quick let him know that drafting a defensive lineman in the 1st round isn't a guarentee of pass-rush success at all. Lots of d-line busts out there.
