Arrington

Post by Walton 40 »

Is it time to trade Arrington?

He doesn't seem to fit into the defensive scheme.
Better to get some value for him if the Skins aren't going to use him like they should.

I myself think that they should alter the defense more to
Arrington's style of play, but that is just my opinion.

I hope they keep him, Greg Williams is out after the season, I guarentee he gets a head coaching position, Lavar will fit in with the new Def Corinator, I guarentee they will use him properly.

I would like to see him as a pass rusher on third downs once in a while. They need something to change there.

I agree, this makes no sense. He has been awesome against the run because he gets into the backfield. He is the only guy who I think can consistently pressure the QB. I think he needs to be there on passing downs.

Yeah, well that's what I used to think.

I mean sure, sometimes he reads the snap count perfectly and beats everyone to the backfield, but if you have been watching closely, a lot of the time when he blitzes he gets stuffed by TE and stuff.

I mean he just runs in there, gets blocked, and can't escape...

But I'd still rather see a fresh LaVar Arrington in at DE on 3rd and 10 than a tired Renaldo Wynn.

I think that the main reason for that is that teams have figured out our blitz packages for the most part. Last year we were able to catch teams off gaurd but this year they know what is coming. None of our blitzers have been effective this season. I'm just baffled as to why we don't let Lavar rush the qb on third down considering he got 11 sacks that way in 2002 and is the best pass rusher that we have right now. I get really aggrivated when I see him trotting off the field on third down. Him and Taylor are our best playmakers on defense so why is he not on the field on third down?

I'm baffled as to why the Skins constantly take LaVar out on 4th downs

Not only take him out, but replace him with a tiny guy like Derrick Frost

Dude we would take a major cap hit if he is let go. And no team is willing to take on his contract anyways. Plus he is the best athlete on the team please hes our heart and soul. I remain a major fan of Arrington so stop the nonsense.

I agree, Arrington has been steadily improving since he came back, but let's not get carried away with the blanket statements about his value to the team. I'm convinced that he'd have been long gone by now if we had not been tied to his ginormous contract.

Seems like Arrington certainly has a lot to contribute to the TEAM, and hopefully he can continue to develop, while he remains in the burgundy & gold.
Back and better than ever!
