Look at this way

Post by HEROHAMO »

Hey well one things for sure. I dont want the skins making the playoffs and on a longshot making the superbowl and getting smashed by the colts. I know the skins have a good enough squad to get to the playoffs. Just need to cut the turnovers.Seriously though Id rather not make the playoffs then to go to the Superbowl and lose it. Man it is seriously gut check time. How about yesterdays game guys I noticed the things we need and here they go a 1. a consistent possesion receiver just someone who can make an eight yard catch.2. a passrushing Defensive End will yeild us some good results. Seriously we got a decent secondary Rogers needs to start Taylor is a stud but has to be more disciplined. Our Linebackers are studs but the dline is full of bums. Man otherwise lets go skins we have to buckle up that chin strap and grind it out.

Patten being out really set us back. I know he's not the best WR out there but we are not deep at that position.

We needed somebody to step up and take some pressure off of Santana Moss. If nobody can make some plays out there the rest of the season will pan out like the Raiders game.

All any defense has to do, (even the crappy Faiders), is double team Moss and stack up against the run. Thats what they did and now we have the offense from last year.

I liked McCants. Though not a big play WR like Moss, he was tall. I think he was like 6'4.

Makes for a great target espically in our style of offense when we need that tall possesion WR.

He didn't do anything as a Redskin and didn't show any promise. He was a chump who is scared of footsteps and consistently got punked around by CB's.

Patten didn't do that so I dont see what the deal is with him being out.

They did that with patten in the game.

I agree Patten has not lived up to what we wanted out of him. I still think he's better than what we had against the raiders though.

I know that with Patten out there even though he hasn't done a whole lot for us we could at least get a first down.

He thought he'd be number one. He thought he'd have people in the lockerroom coming up to admire his rings and asking advise of him. Once the novelty wore off and Moss went zipzipzip, Patten was an after thought. He whined about it, which is really a blow to the whole "I'm a veteran leader" philosophy.
We're none the worse for wear with him out. Give Jacobs one or two more games to prove himself. He's rusty, and his timing is likely a lot better with Campbell right now.

IMO Patten never existed. Patten has contributed 0 significant. 1 3rd down conversion every 5 games doesn't cut it. I 3 yard hith catch is nothing. Patten didn't exist in this offense. Why? Im not sure.

Brunell seems to favor players but when you have Sellers with 6 TD's its hard to say that.

Patten doesn't get open and he's a chump.

Brunell had more snaps with Patten in camp, didn't he ? I have no earthly idea why the two couldn't get on the same page.

agreed here too. patten was essentially worthless/useless. he would stand there waiting for the ball to fall into his hands, instead of going up to get it. in the meantime, the DB would knock it away.

jacobs didn't show very much yesterday but i would much rather have him out there than patten. he may not end up being great but i think he'll be "solid" at least. it seems like he really makes an effort to go up and get the ball and bring it down, you know?

they just need to come up with some better routes/plays for him than those stupid go routes! when you heave the ball up at the very beginning of the play, the safety can immediately double up on it. you've got to design the play so the safety has to bite on another route before the ball gets thrown.

presumably gibbs and brunell know this, so i can't understand what was going on yesterday.
