Postgame Gibbs

Post by Gibbs4Life »

I love Gibbs (see my member name) but his postgame assesment is tired and way too predictable...it always goes like this...

"Well I think it was a hard fought game
I think our guys fought their guts out
I think its all of us together here starting w/me"

Tonight I wanted to come home and see Joe say...

"Well my QB looked like the 35 yr old bum he is and was all last season so he's benched and we're going w/patrick"

Please save your brunell defense posts...whether or not you agree doesn't change the fact that my favorite football team is having (again) its time and season waisted by a HAS BEEN.

Taylor Jacobs looked like trash today, so did the D-line when it came time to rush the passer. There's alot of work to do and not much time to do it, Joe will fix it I know he will, but his blind loyalty to Brunell is dissapointing.

i certainly wouldn't say that brunell is a "bum" but it seems clear he is running out of gas. he is doing "OK", maybe even "pretty good"-- just good enough to get you to 8-8, maybe 9-7 and still out of the playoffs. ramsey might not be a better option, but he very well could be. let's not kid ourselves- we are not going to the playoffs. even if we do, so what? we aren't going to get far. why not give ramsey a shot?

We certainly aren't going to make the playoffs--I want to know what he is going to do to make this a better football team.

I don't think Mark Brunell is the problem at this point when we have people that shouldn't be on a professional roster: Sellers, Jansen, Samuels, Wynn, Holdman, Thrash, Jacobs....I could go on....

I want him to give me an apology then start cutting some people the way Bill Parcells would.

But this is just a fantasy I realize this.

Shouldn't be on a professional roster? Did you forget to take your medication?

You listed a bunch of people who have had productive pro careers. Samuels is a multiple pro-bowler. Yes, I don't think he's that good either, but he's certainly a professional. Jansen, same thing. Sellers has 6 TDs this year, I wonder what a real professional would get?

Teams cannot have all-pros at every position. The funny thing is, you pointed out no one I'd agree with, excepting maybe Jacobs, and that's too early to tell. I'd start with Robert Royals, and maybe think about Derrick (I get pushed into the backfield!) Dockery being a backup, not a starter.

We're 5-5. It's not like we're the Houston Texans.

We would beat LUCKY to beat the Texans.....it would probably be another 16-15 Joe Gibbs "special."

Personally I hope to see some revamping in the off season but with the awful cap space. I don't know much can be done.Lets compare some changes from last year-offense-coles and gardner gone!!We get Moss and add the use of the shotgun. We go from nearly the last place ranking, into the top 15 this year. The defense on the other hand has went backwards and we need some major speed to help.Say what you want too, but that defense just hasn't been the same since Smoot and Pierce have been gone.I'm willing to bet that one more year of rebuilding and we will be a great team.

Yeah, he's done absolutely NOTHING over the course of the past 10 games, and he was downright horrible when his offense was crippled by the loss of 3 experienced WRs (2 to injury, 1 to blanket coverage). I say we cut him now.

What a moronic post. Oh yeah, please save your moronic posts defense posts....

Yesterdays loss was not Mark Brunells fault. It was the fault of those who put the ball on the carpet and more specifically the offensive line. How do you expect Mark to throw the ball with any accuracy when he has two D lineman in his face?

I'd rather give Jason Campbell the "shot" instead of Ramsey.

Our O-line is the most overrated in the league. Our D-line is the worst in the league at pressuring the QB. We need to do our best in the offseason to improve the lines.

Ramsey has had his shots. We need to find out if Campbell is the future of this football team.

If we lose Sunday we are done, so let's let Campbell take some snaps.
I miss you 21.

God I wish we had a second round pick.

THAT was the biggest problem, by far, that we had yesteday. We have nobody who can passblock the other guys' defensive ends on offense and on defense, we have little to no pass rush.

I wouldn't say we're done until we lose 8 games. Believe it or not, there is still hope. The Giants and Cowboys have a tough schedule coming up. We can still make things interesting.

Please tell me what quarterback in the league will flourish when he has no time to throw the ball? Every week we can't block the opposition...Mark is under pressure like 8 out of every 10 passes.

He has no time...c'mon I know that we know football better than this. There is no quarterback in the league who can look superior when he is under pressure. Our O-Line didn't protect him.

I am so glad that people like this are not making decisions. This is NFL football, you don't flip flop back and forth like that. We are a 5-5 team. Our playoff chances are slim if we are aiming for a wildcard, but we still can win the division.....YES YOU PESSIMISTS...we still can win the division. WHY???? Because anything is possible. We are not 4-6 like the E-gals, we still play the Giants and Cowboys once at home.

We are still in the mix, and until otherwise, I am not gonna give up.

ROTFALMAO

He is coaching a professional football team instead of venting as a fan.

There are different styles of sharing in a loss. You can blame others or you can join in. I would rather play for a guy that is one of us rather than one that points fingers and does not assume responsibility.

But I understand that some people feel that players need to be pointed out like school children after a bad deed, i.e., Bill Parcell's type of rants.

Like it or not, this is Joe. I love his classy style even in defeat.

By the way, Do you know what happens on Monday at film time? No? Then you still have some work to get to know Joe Gibbs., And no, he does not scream or rant. He studies, teaches and delineates responsibilities. That is why the players love him and play their guts for him.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

That makes two of us.
I always tell my wife (who in recent years has entered the role of "management" in her workplace) that you can learn a lot about managaing people and professionalism just by listening to Joe and studying how he runs his teams.

Sure, we might be on a losing streak, but I can guarantee you those players are willing to play every day this week, so long as they can win won for their leader, Joe Gibbs.
Back and better than ever!
