I just want to make sure that I've got the rules for this site down:

1) don't criticize Redskins' players
2) don't criticize Redskins' coaches
3) don't question any coaching decision
4) wish upon a star and believe that the Redskins are the greatest...

What kind of board would this be with rules like these?
You cancriticize ant player or coach that you want to. Just remember that everyone won't agree and some will take offense. You can question the coaching decision if that gets you though the rough spots that too is up to you and again others will differ.

why is it that anytime someone discusses a problem with the redskins, they're labeled as bandwagon, and told to leave? Oh well, I guess those are the rules---has anyone come up with the mandatory positive spin for the day?

Why is it everytime someone has something positive to say someone calls them a "Homer" or states they are wearing burgundy colored glasses.

Why is it these post increase after a couple of losses...
Because that's what members do. If you don't like it you can leave but whatever site you land at you'll find the same thing. As long as the REAL rules are followed to can say what you want, the more substance the better... there is enough drivel being posted

Hey, how about this--Randy Moss only caught 3 for 40 yds...oh wait, despite that, we lost to the Raiders---oh, how about this---we got a defensive TD today---but darn, doesn't that mean we only scored 6 pts on offense?

Not bad for positive spin but you should give others a chance to shoot it down You would have gotten things like "yeah but Porter was wide open all day" and "FG don't win games"

I'm not a fan of the doomsday approach, but I'm also not real keen on the blind, unthinking optimish...

after all, somewhere, right now, a Vikings fan is pleading with his comrades to "trust in the coaches" to not give up on the season...and guess what, if the vikings win tomorrow, they will have the same record as we do, with a division leader in the same shape, and will be in an easier division...

With all due respect tcwest10, I was just trying to defend another poster who was being told to leave. Personally, I know these aren't MY boards, and I'd never ask anyone to leave. And I've never thrown terms like bandwagon or fairweather fan at anyone, either.

We've been telling him to leave for as long as I can remember.
I only stop asking him to take off after I joined the Staff.

I hat it when badnwagon fans like yourself completely lose faith in your team because they didn't win. We are still in the hunt for a wild card....we have 3 games against the division...2 @ home and the away one @ a depleted Eagle team.....so, if we win those and take 2 from the Rams, Cards...we are in the playoffs...yea, i am just as upset as you, but it doesn't make it better to bash the team...

Just because he didn't come on here and lead everyone in a singalong and a group hug? He's a passionate fan like all of us. The team sucked today and he's venting. Nothing wrong with that.

That is a ridiculous statement! No one here has a problem with posting what you want. The problem lies with some posters who constantly trash the redskins and everything associated with them, whether they win or loss. You obviously have not read many of domihates posts

Hey chad, nice to meet you...though, I guess we must have met somewhere, since you know I'm a bandwagon fan.

I said it in another thread, but I'll repeat it here--despite serious problems, I'm still happy with the progress the skins have made. As someone else said, this is the best the team has looked in awhile.

However, we're not perfect...there are serious problems, and I don't think it's inappropriate to discuss those problems. Like I said before, the doomsday approach is an emotional one, that frequently does not really consider reality. However, the blind optimism displayed by SOME here has the same faults. I would think that a Redskins forum is a place to discuss those...I'm not sure if it was the moderator who told me that the point of this site is to create a positive environment for discussing the Skins...I say "Amen" to that...but I have a question---does positive environment basically equate to "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it all?" I wouldn't think so, and I don't think that's what the kind people who run this site believe (though I don't want to speak for them).

I disagree that the season is over, but that's because I don't think that a season is determined by getting to the playoffs. That's always a plus, but I'd prefer to see a Super Bowl caliber team built (kind of like the Pats, Panthers, Eagles before). In that vein, I like this team--we're making improvements, and are identifying key holes where we need to make improvement. As I said in another thread, I think those key holes include:

1) Speed D-end + Heftier D Tackle
2) 2nd Corner--this should be resolved by Carlos Rogers, and I think will
3) Improved QB-Brunell has played amazingly considering where he was last year. But, I think in the end, his peak is not going to be enough to take this team over the top. However, once again, I think J.C. is going to fill this void nicely...However, I don't think we should start him unless we lose 2 more games are truly, effectively, eliminated from the playoffs
4) Tinkering with the O-line--we apparently can't handle the edge rush, or block terribly effectively on the edges for stretch plays or tosses (though they've been better recently on this front)

Hopefully this post doesn't raise the ire of the thought police, but it's the way I see this team right now....

All I have to say is that we sucked today, we lost to the Raiders. My perdiction for this year is 8-8 or 9-7. What we need to improve on easy, pass rushing De, another wide reciever, Te, we need a Lt but were stuck with Samuels, another Guard (Dockery is just not cutting it). I'd say another Dt also. But we have very little picks. I would also say get an offensive coordinator.

I just don't get that at all - aside from the beating we gave SF, we've won by margins of 2, 1, 3, and 7. There hasn't been more than 1-2 games where both the offense and the defense have both decided to show up. Sure, the 'skins have shown flashes of brilliance, but they've also shown some pathetic mistakes. It's nice to have luck on your side, but you can't always be depending on it.
