Stop it! You are going to get another poster started with that.

Look guys, this is worth doing! They should be embarrassed -WITHIN- the rules. It is GOOD to get letters of apology from the NFL once they messed it up.

But to be EXTRA fair, sure the ref on the field MESSED UP big time in that last call because he should have held the call and talked to others because he did not see the ball cross the plane until one player had pulled Alstott and he had pushed further once down. BUT my anger is even BIGGER against the people at the BOOTH. They knew it. They saw it. They should have reversed it. They did noit have the guts and intelligence to do it.

PLEASE SEE and LISTEN to the press conference by Joe. The last call against us is only the BEGINNING of our complains to the League.

According to Joe, for example, we legitimately blocked that extra point!!! Man, I do not want to get angrier on Tuesday.

At least I have the faces of Philthy fans last night to brighten the rest of my week.

Irrefutable or indesputable, whatever the catch fraze is that lets the refs take the chicken sh.. way out and not make the tough call; that is the biggest problem with instant replay. The Ref should look at the the replay and based on what he see, make the bloody call the same way he would have called it on the field.

On plays at the goal-line, the offense will always get the benefit of the doubt because under the pile, the runner can still move without being seen by the Refs and put himself over the goal-line by the time the pile is cleared out.

That's what happened here and also what happen in the Ravens-Detroit game a while back. On that goal-line stand, the replay showed that the Detroit running back was still moving even after the whistle had blown and he was ruled down. So by the time the pile had cleared, he had wiggled himself across the goal-line.

The officials put themselves in a bad spot Sunday and set the tone early because the Galloway play was clearly blown, so they made up for that with allowing the Betts TD to stand. Then at the end of the game to clearly not show their incompetence, they allowed the Alstott 2pt. conversion to stand because the Redskins still had a chance to win with a minute left on the clock.

This is the same thing that happens in the NBA when you have severe discrepancies in foul shooting for one team. One team shoots 40 free throws while the other team only shoots 10. So if the team that shoots only 10 is close near the end of the game, the officials will make a call or two in their favor to give them a chance to cover their azzez. Ultimately, it is up to the player to hit the shot but the officials at least put them in the position to do so.

The main flaw in your theory roybus, is that the replay clearly showed Betts stayed inbounds.

Exactly, when you see the closeup of his feet it is very clear that his heels never touched the ground out-of-bounds.

So far so good for the hypothesis, but ...

What is the EXCUSE for the replay officials in the booth? :hmm:

i like that joe gibbs isn,t given up on it but all he,s gonna get is i,m sorry.well they are all sorry far as i,m concerned.refs turn me the wrong way anyways.

imagine if these refs of the nfl stare at themselves in the mirror like the beer commercials, roughing the pallet.

nothing upsets me more when a game has to come down to a 2 point conversion anyways.thanks for allowing the receiver to get passed you for the td to set this whole thing up to start with.

They won't do anything, the ref's should be docked some $$ for every call they blow. They would make sure they got it right then.

1. If coaches are fined for comments against refs; and

2. players are fined for not wearing the perfect uniform plus MANY other reasons; then

Q: Why should the refs and booth officials not get fined for their mistakes when they are so obvious?

A: It will never happen. In theory, the "best" refs are preserved for the playoffs while the others go home. Still, these guys are part-time workers.

Message to NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue (who is a Redskin fan by the way):

PROFESSIONALISE the sport completely!

Give the refs a FULL-TIME job and treat them with economic incentives for good performances -and- fines for bad ones.

because coaches and players work for the owners. refs work for the league. the league won't criticize one of it's own employees. this is similar to the league brushing tom benson's mental episode in baton rouge under the rug. if that were a player, a fine and suspension would have been a given.

Did anyone hear what Wilbon said on PTI?
He pretty much said Gibbs is the biggest whinner in the NFL.
The other guy on the show defended Gibbs though, probably because they are supposed to argue on that show.

I don't know. I would have to assume that they are in co-hoots with the refs on the field. Remember, the Ref on the field is talking to them in the headset and no one knows what they are talking about. I would imagine that the conversation and some others have gone like this:

Ref: Was he down? I see his elbow down but I don't know?

Replay Off: His elbow looks like it is down but where's the ball?

Ref: Well we better get this one right because we screwed up the other ones...

Replay Off: Yeah, right. Well the Skins have a minute left so they can get it back. It's good....

Ref: Okay

Other plays:

Ref: Hey Al, whatcha got?

Replay Off: He was out.

Ref: Okay. Did you talk to Bob last night about the bar tab?

Replay Off: Yeah, he didn't pay his damn bill. A--hole....

Ref: Yeah, remind me the next time we go out not to ask Bob.

Replay Off: Hey, you better get back, they are waiting.

Ref: Okay, tell Bill to stop picking his nose and answer the damn buzzer...

LOOK at the video of the two-point attempt play by the BucsCLICK HERE! :explode:

But only if you have a high speed connection because it is 47 Mb long!

I played it a hundred times every time he fails to go in!

I will give Alstott a hundred extra chances but I suspect that the outcome will be the same. ROTFALMAO

I am looking at this on Wednesday guys. Let it go.

He did not see, you did not see, I did not see it, nobody saw it. Why did the booth officials not overturn the call on the field???

I've looked at Mike Alstott's two-point conversion from last week's win over the Redskins at least 10 different times. I still do not see where that football broke the plane of the goal line. Washington was shortchanged. That's all I'm going to say.

I know it is Thursday and I said let it go. But still, the more people speak out, the more this farce is exposed.

There you go. I will really let it go this time, at least for the time being...

I had to endure the game over the internet and it was so frustrating but I will point out a fact - We are a very good team this year and even though the standings do not show us as the best team in the NFC East IMO we are. This is partly because the other teams in our division (as I keep pointing out) are just not that good, but also because we are playing well and will only get better.

We are so lucky to have Gibbs and Williams ensuring that the players get ready for this week. It is all very well for all of us to be upset at perceived bad calls and such but they just do not matter to me as long as we continue to play well and improve which I think is happening.

We will be in the playoffs! We may not be in the SB but we are progressing to that. I cannot say the same for any other team in the NFC East!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Forget it. You know what I'm gonna say.
Anybody else see LaVar do his "leap" (made famous at State Pen) and just barely nick Alstott ?

Just was watching NFL total access and they had the head of NFL officiating on to discuss "certain plays" and he kinda made some sense.

He took a look at multiple views and i believe the main things were that without getting a clear look at the ball, or seeing clear evidence from not 1 but 2 different angles (1 angle looks like a td, other angle looks like he didnt get in, both you cannot see the ball really) then usually they will go with the call on the field.

Just a little thing i heard that i thought i would let everyone know about what exactly the refs were thinkin about when lookin at the replay.

BEAT OAKLAND!!!
