i thought they said that his heel didn't touch down out of bounds.

That's exactly what they said. I was watching the game in HD, and it was clear as day on both calls (and don't get me started on the "force out" non-review).

His heel didn't touch out but 2 steps later it looked like part of his foot did. Don't get me wrong I was thrilled that the TD counted I thought it made up for Galloway's false force out. What I was trying to say was that I don't think that the replay offical gets to see the replay enhanced by the TV crew.

The officials sucked, as usual. But, that's a given. They suck each and every week.
Dispite the calls, the outcome of the game yesterday was in the Redskin's hands. They are the ones who decided who won and who lost. They are the ones who surrendered 2 turnovers that turned into 14 points for the Bucs. They are the ones who forgot how to play pass defense in the last 2 minutes. They are the ones who blew coverage on Sheppard. They are the ones who were called for holding in the mid 4th quarter, effectively ending a drive that could have finished it.
The loss lays squarely at the feet of inconsistent play on both sides of the line of scrimmage.
The Positive is, they scored 31 points on a dinamite Defense. The moved the ball pretty much at will. Another game that they should have won. That's 3 this year. If this team knew how to play at 100% for 4 quarters, they'd be 8-1.

In a way I agree with your sentiment Skinsfan, it's just that yesterday was a really, really bad time to start a thread about not bashing the officials.
The zebras really hurt us yesterday. There's just no way around it.

The booth over and over cannot get things right! I have a question - Why does the referee at the field booth need earphones? I understand a microphone to request another view or back up the current view. But I don't think anyone should talking into his ear, and if it is neccessary than let what is being said during a review be made public. Again I say the booth cannot get things right over and over again! - Booth procedure should be public.

Testeverde even talks like quaterback, but he has the heart of a placekicker.
I knew from the first turnover where Patten was crashed into before the ball got there that the refs would make sure the Skins lost this game. It may not have been a conscious decision on their part, but no one in the entire league, outside of the Redskins organization and the fans, wants the Redskins to win. All the owners, all the management, and all the refs as well, they all hate Dan Snyder and want us to lose.
Please. Don't complain? Heck yes I'll complain. Raising a stink is the only way things will change. It's sickening to watch not just this game, but the Giants game where their offensive line gets called for a ton of holding penalties (rightly so) in losing to the Vikes. Where were those calls when we played them?
It's more than just "crappy calls." How can you watch the endline ref jogging so slowly, so casually, toward Alstott, just waiting and waiting and waiting while he's on his friggin back stretching the ball across.
Don't complain about the refs? Please. When the officiating is so obviously one-sided, who should complain? Gibbs and company sure can't complain. Who will if we don't?
Blame the players if you want. Blame the coaches. Don't be happy with anything less than a blow-out. Do whatever you want. They played well enough to win this game on a level playing field. So I'm going to complain.

i believe that the final decisions made during a review are made by both the head referee as well as the officials in the booth. they're not there just to serve up replays, but to assist in the outcome of the game-er, i mean review.

I didn't watch the game but these are basically the comments that Sonny and Sam had. At the end of the game they said it was shameful for the refs to SYSTEMATICALLY decide the game by blowing call after call in the Bucs favor. They especially seemed irked byt the plays that were reviewed, said both should have obviously been overturned, and the one that couldn't be reviewed.
The NFL has to seriously look at its referees and the replay system. The refs blow replay calls so much what is the point of having it in the game? More often than not they seem to make the wrong call.

Is it just me or did the ref who called the "forced out of bounds" call also make the game deciding 2 pt conversion call? Anyone happen to know if he a resident of Florida's Gulf Coast?
