Taylor out against the Bucs
Being reported on the radio that he is out for Sunday against the bucs with a sprained ankle.
I'm sure he wishes he could play in Fla.
I guess we'll get to see how much Bowen has left in the tank. I like him more as a SS, but I think he gets the nod if he's close enough to 100%. Doesn't he back up Taylor at FS?
I was wondering how much of the explosive speed he would have left after the ACL tear. That's what made his hits so hard. I guess we'll see on Sun.

Not good news. I hope that he finds a way to play.
I'm gonna disagree with you on this. All of us want Sean in the game but it's clear from watching him the last few weeks that he is nowhere near 100%. His speed and explosivness are lacking and I think that has caused him to take some bad angles on plays on miss some tackles. Hopefully missing the game will give him a chance to heal up so that he can be close to 100% when we play the Raiders.
Nov 10 Ryan O'Halloran, of the Washington Times, reports Washington Redskins S Sean Taylor (ankle) did not practice Thursday, Nov. 10, as a precaution. He is expected to practice Friday, Nov. 11.
Nov 11 Unless his sprained ankle improves dramatically over the next couple of days, Taylor will not play in Sunday's meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Redskins head coach Joe Gibbs. The safety has been in the lineup the last two weeks despite the injury, but he's been unable to practice with the team this week and was downgraded from probable to questionable on the injury report.
If Taylor is unable to go, Matt Bowen and Pierson Prioleau will see more time in the Redskins' defensive backfield. In eight games this season, Taylor has 30 tackles, one interception and a forced fumble.

you're probably gonna get a big dose of Alstott!
Alstot was good... but we had problems on the weak side. A fullback like him cannot run outside like fast halbacks in the league, I'm sure he wont be that much of a problem. Marshall will see to that.
ps-Arrington is back anyway, even if you do try to take advantage of the weakside, you'll still get stuffed!

To be honest I'm glad they're resting Taylor because hopefully this injury was the cause of his mediocrity this season. I doubt it because an ankle injury doesn't stop you from wrapping up while tackling. However, he hasn't been the force he was last season and Pierson is a heck of a backup. Hopfully Taylor can come out with a renewed vigor after being rested. The guy is able to play so I'd still expect him to suit up but only play in an extreme situation.

If there's a game that we can safely sit Taylor, this is it. He needs to get healed up and ready for the rest of the season. I'd rather see him sit against the Bucs than against the Raiders or Chargers. Gates and Moss scare me alot more than Galloway and Chris Simms.

verrrrrRrry good point! I feel the same. I'm not sold on the faiders defense but the offense isnt bad, and the chargers, well you know their good. I'd rather he rested this game too. I want win number 8 in November!

Tampa is having it's share of problems, however 2 good defenses against 1 offense that is strong if running on all cylinders(REDSKINS) and 1 offense struggling with it's QB on a learning curve(TAMPA). This will either be a horably close nail biter or a blow out.
Tampa has one good receiver, and we can sic Springs on him.
After that, it's all about controlling the running game. If we score first, and maybe twice first, they'll have to throw just to get back in it...
...and that will be the key.
