Yahoo midseason awards

Post by ArmyHog »

Thought this was interesting....but very true.

From Yahoo.com....

Best Offseason Addition
Santana Moss, Washington Redskins – He practically beat Dallas all by himself on Monday Night Football, and he's on pace for almost 1,700 receiving yards.

Worst Offseason Addition
Fred Smoot, Minnesota Vikings – Forget the Love Boat. His play has been felonious.

Well of course its Moss. Who thought he would be doing so well? Besides Gibbs.

It's also nice not to be the "Most Disapointing Team" for once too!

Its too bad about Smoot, I wonder what's going on with him. He was always good here.

Wow, the best offseason addition is a Redskin and the worst offseason addition is a guy the Redskins let go?

Pretty high praise there.

Smoot - great guy... very over-rated player. Nobody wanted to listen to me when it happened but the guy was NEVER worth top flight cornerback money. The Redskins were right to let him get that money elsewhere... just ask Minny fans...

I'll always like Freddie, but I'm glad someone else is paying him to be paid better than he performs.

My 2 cents
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

I agree. I loved how Smoot always left it all on the field, but it is pretty far-fetched to say he is any kind of elite CB. I am sorry to see he is hurt (again), though.

who would think that releasing Fred Smoot was a good thing. The Jets thought they were ripping us off with the Sanatana Moss trade not to mention everyone in ESPN agreed with Jets.

He was a good player but it was rediculous to think that he was worth any more than Springs. The deal he got was pretty rediculous.

I don't have any ill will towards Freddie, but I just didn't think that he was worth throwing huge money at. Rogers is going to be a far better NFL cornerback IMO.
