Hold on yall. Why get so upset because people pick the Skins to do poorly. Everybody does not have faith in this team. They just call it like they see it.
SI is one of the best. I've been a subscriber for years.
I say let the team do the talking on the field.
What are they supposed to think after what we have done the last umpteen years.
We need to take a breath.

Ten Things I Think I Think
by hkHog

1. I think I think that Joe Gibbs isn't washed up considering that he took an anaemic passing attack and transformed it into the third best in preseason. Sure, it's just the preseason but its a start considering that the 'Skins played three of the best five defenses in the league and managed more big plays than they had all of last season.

2. I think I think that the Redskins also finished fourth in total offense.

3. I think I think that our offensive line will be a dominant force considering we gave up no sacks against Carolina or Pittsburgh. More importantly, we ran all over Cincy (5.1 yds/carry for the game), Pittsburgh (the best run D by yards allowed last year), and the Ravens (10 carries for 60yds over the first 18 minutes). We have also been setting up screen plays very well and the downfield blocking has been exceptional.

4. I think I think that Clinton Portis is going to have a monster year given the improved play of the o-line, the extra muscle he has put on and the adaptation of the blocking scheme to more of the Alex Gibbs style. The aforementioned more explosive passing game is also going to help him a great deal. I also think that Ladell Betts will play very well as he was perhaps our best overall player in the preseason.

5. I think I think that last year our D was the best in the NFC, third overall, gave up the least yards per carry by half a yard, and tied Pittsburgh for the least amount of points conceded.

6. I think I think that despite the losses of Fred Smoot and Antonio Pierce our D will be at least as dominating as it was last year. Lavar Arrington is finally healthy and has looked excellent thus far, Sean Taylor will be even better in his second season and Carlos Rogers looks like he is coming into game shape and has played excellently in the last two games. A ball control offense centered around our o-line and running game is only going to make our defense that much better and more effective.

7. I think I think we will win more than four games this season. Those who really believe that are just haters who have not paid any attention to what changes have been made in the offseason. In fact, they do not even believe that themselves as they admit the 'Skins are better than that. Considering that the team lost eight games by an average of 2.5 pts last season, even a small upgrade in the performance of our offense should endure us at least seven or eight wins at the minimum.

8. I think I think that Peter King is a huge hypocrite. How on earth can you say the week before the draft that Jason Campbell is hands down the best QB in the draft and then bash Joe Gibbs for picking him? Then one week later you say that four or five years down the road, when all is said and done, Jason Campbell will be looked at as being one of the top five players from this year's draft but then still bash Gibbs for trading to get him. How does that make any logical sense unless you have an agenda.

9. I think I think that Dr. Z and Peter King are two of the most biased reporters out there. They use every possible opportunity to denegrate Art Monk in their PUBLIC CAMPAIGN to make sure that he doesn't get into the Hall of Fame. Forget the fact that when he retired he had the most catches of any WR in history, the longest streak of games with a catch in history, and was the first player to catch 100 passes in a year or the fact that he was an integral part of a team that won three Super Bowls and is one of the finest and most classy men you will ever come across for his generosity and work in the community. Publicly, they also not only bash, but also express their personal dislike for Dan Snyder. Some of their reasons are fair enough but the way that they personalize their attacks and show that they hate him as a person and not just because of his actions, is both unprofessional and unacceptable.

10. I think I think that I will never buy SI again because of the disgusting bile that its writers spew forth on a weekly basis. They will never be anything more than "Monday Morning Quarterbacks."

I found some good rankings here. Dr. Z is an idiot, i cant believe he put the browns over us. These put the skins at 21, not too bad.

Whomever wrote that is a bumbling idiot. At least attempt to get some basic facts correct if he's going to use them to bolster his assinine rankings.

I don't care about the preseason predictions... it's all about getting on the cover when you win the super bowl.

He actually has Chicago ranked even lower and they are 5-3 and appear headed to a division title.

Well done.

Why is there so much shock and dismay over Paul Zimmerman ? He's an old Giant's beat reporter, you know. He's an expert, but certainly with his own agenda, and his own biases.
Just take what he writes with a grain of salt, and with the understanding that he picks with his heart and not with his head.
He's nobody and nothing...with a national forum.
