Walt Harris
I know this guy has it in him to be a good tackler (i.e. the dallas game) but the last few weeks HE's KILLIN Us. We need our corners to make the tackles walt missed tonight.
Good to see the Redskins beat Philthydelphia. Now let's see if we can win one more on the road!

HAIL
Well, that tackling he did in Dallas will always be remmebered by us loyal fans, since it helped big time to end that streak. I hope is having some bad games or maybe it is time for him to go back to the nickel and let our first rounder play some more. Carlos has shown he can tackle and is good in run support.

Walt was really bad yesterday and the week before.
It's time to turn the ball over to the rookie and put Harris in nickel IMO. Let Rogers get the work/experience because his physical talents alone are capable of turning in a performance that likens or betters Harris'.
ST didn't play well either. In fact, he's in the middle of a sophomore jinx as he has been relatively ineffective all season... other than the lick at the end of the Dallas game, most of Sean's memorable 2005 moments are on the wrong side of the ledger.

Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

It wasnt just Walt Harris, I heard them say on ESPN that Sean Taylor needs to quit going for kill shots all the time and just tackle people, And there were a few more missed tackles last night

See the reason Sean is bad at getting the good old wrap up tackle, is bececause he deosn't use the wrap up. He goes for the big fumble hit everytime. So it's kind of like the Hit Stick in Madden. If you use it effectively then you have yourself a high light, but if you miss you get worked.
So as long as Sean goes back to the fundamentals, and only busts out the monster hit when the time is right he will be fine. But I'm sorry, Walt Harris just sucks this year.
I agree with BossHog, let's see what C Rogers can do. I mean, at least he can tackle...

AMEN!
You all can't believe how many people think "kill shot" IS the fundamental tackling technique. ("Put your head in their chest, yada yada yada.)
Also, what's with diving at peoples' shins in order to make a tackle?
When did "Head to the side, shoulder in the gut, arms wrapped around the waist" become passe?

The whole defense looks a little out of control this season when it comes to tackling... Walt (and Springs too) was coming up and making some great tackles the first few weeks, but I think all the big plays the defense has given up has caused the corners to be a little soft which causes them to have to try and make difficult open field tackles instead of being right on the guy when he makes the catch... I guess the solution is to put more pressure on the passer, but that's not going to happen with this D-line, so they're going to have to get it into their head to break down and wrap up...

I have the impression that Walt Harris -together- with Holdman were the main reasons several running backs were having these LONG runs against us. They were OUT of position and/or just taking the WRONG ANGLES to tackle the othar player, once there, they did not tackle properly.
The Holdman situation has been handled already. Lavar played a great game. I love his new attitude on and off the field (I saw his interviews).
The Walt Harris situation will be addressed very soon. I suspect that Carlos Rogers was just being given enough time to heal properly. When Rogers played yesterday, he trew a blnket on the Eagles' receivers. The guy is great.
Walt is soon to be out as a CB and in as a nickel back. Carlos will be our second CB very soon.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

No, on the postgame show Gregg Williams said that the defense changed the call on the field to man coverage, but Springs didnt hear it, so he stayed in zone.

It might have been all the layers of socks he wore last night. I mean, wouldn't that many layers of elastic cut off the circulation in your feet??? That's gotta slow him down some, right?

Back and better than ever!

then mike missed the first defensive play of the game against the eagles. westbrokk swept to the left, harris came up, made the tacle, and got rolled over by the wr who was blocking him and lemar marshall. it did not look fun. but he didn't hesitate.

ST didn't really get burned. The defense switched from zone to man but Springs didn't realize the change and as a result let Brown run accross the middle uncovered. As for Sean's ankle, it really does seem to be bothering him. He just doesn't have the burst that he did last year and earlier this season.
