I think we ALL became "gaga" after that dallass win. In the ensuing weeks, we believed that we had a chance that was just as good as anyone else in the division. Four weeks straight this team was handled on the ground. NOT GOOD!!! Why? Because you can't fix these things mid season. The problem is personnel and that can't change until the offseason. This giant game (I watched it over again) was a painful eye opener.

I just wish we still had our bye week. Our team is jacked up and we have 9 straight weeks of football ahead.

Well actually, I guess you could count yesterday as a bye week

Joe and Gregg must still compete with Danny's retarded offseason splurges of the past.

J and G must still contend with Spurrier and Marty players.

Lets not forget that this is only Joes second year and with this adversity we at least have hope when years before were only filled with doom.

That's a challenge facing Gibbs and the rest of the staff this season. We have to do our best with what we have.

The Redskins were not ready to play, and the Giants were not going to lose the game no matter what !!!! The team will play better against the Eagles.

the good news is that the eagles don't run the ball, so less chance of them blowing up for big runs.

Why wouldn't they run the ball after watching game tape? It's clear the Redskins have serious issues stopping the run, Reid would have to be an idiot not to use that weakness to his advantage. Reid, sadly, is not an idiot.

What the heck, folks?!?! We had one really bad game, that's for sure. But this team is great -- one of the best we've had in many years. Get back on the bandwagon because this year we're making the playoffs!

I don't think this is a case of jumping off the bandwagon but more of a case this is frustrating as longtime redskin fans. In years past the skins jump out of the gate fall behind a little bit, get back into the wild card race just to fall short. Myself I am affraid this is what is happening now. I can only hope our attempt doesn't fall short this year. We have just lost 3 of 4, with the Eagles coming to town, then to Tampa Bay. These are two good football teams and efforts like we saw Sunday could leave us at 4-5 before we know, and I am quite certain we don't want this this. Alot predicted 10-6 this year, the way the confrence looks 10-6 might not be wild card this season. We need the division and the division looks like its up for grabs this year. The Giants started 5-2 last year, hopefully they have the same melt down in them again this year, as far as the Cowboys, I don't know what tho expect from them anymore and the Eagles look suspect, definatly not the powerhouse they have been but still dangerous. I keep thinking of the 96 team that started out 7-1 and didn't make the playoffs. I think I speak for everyone saying "WE LOVE THE REDSKINS" This team is good, not great (91 team was great)They need to work hard game in and game out, that didn't happen sunday and it's frustating beacause now we see they are capable of being that bad.

"There's no need to fear, Underdog is here"..... Oh, wrong board.

Anyway, the problem that we have is a defensive scheme that is now becoming predictable and an offense that had a bad day. As brillant as GW is, he has to now "push" #56 hard to get him back in the starting lineup. He also has to "inspire" this defense. It's like they are only "playing" within this scheme. They don't have the energy of the Ravens or Bears defenses every Sunday. It's like they are robots that have no umph. It's like they are playing not to make a mistake. If they all know this scheme so well, then why aren't they "flying" to the ball and gang tackling and shutting teams completely down?

Look, this team is still pretty damn good and there are alot of teams that have a least one stinker game. Until they came back late, Philly was about to have their second of the season, then Denver extended the lead...

So let's not jump off the bandwagon. The season is still young and we still have a chance.

Eating Coles' cap this year hurt us going after free agents. Still what we need IMHO is the following (in this order):

1.) A disruptive DE that can get pressure on the QB when we only rush 4

2.) More quality OL depth (including an eventual replacement for Samuels - he's only going to restructure his contract so many times)

3.) More DT depth with quality players like Griffin

4.) Better Secondary depth (our lack of depth is troubling and Jimoh is horrible !!)

5.) More WR depth. After Moss I'm not real warm and fuzzy about our WR corps (Patten has done nothing, Thrash is mainly returning kicks, Jacobs has done nothing as a Redskin, etc...)

These are my thoughts on what we need... no as to why I listed the OL and DL first ? Because if both lines are great then you have a great chance to make the playoffs. Its starts with the line play folks ...

amen, but we are very fortunate to have these 2 guys (and the assistants) to get these guys through this.

We also have some pretty incredible "competition" out there. Can you believe what happened to the Bucs and the iggles last week? Now the g-strings are going to end up at 9-7 and the pukes are about the same so I think 10-6 or even 11-5 is pretty good in the NFC East.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Well, it could also be that Gibbs was right...maybe we did use up all our points in the 49er game.
I don't see that depth, or the l;ack thereof, had anything to do with the blown assignments by Taylor, the suddenly rock-hard hands of Cooley, Patten, Portis and Moss, the saloon-door styled front lines on both sides of the ball and Brunell looking like, well...Brunell.
The only place I could see you making that argument is, we needed to replace nearly half the team last Sunday...and nobody has that kind of depth.

Even if we used up all our points doesn't mean we give up points. I think looking at the Gints game you can say it wasn't depth, but looking at the team and it's performance to date the main issues is depth.
1. Lack of it at DB when BOTH starts went down... (running a scheme that relies on corners playing on a island) ... Do you want Ade on a island?
2. The situation we are in now at DT.. not only is the starters hurt but the backups are limping.
3. Joe Gibbs wasn't feeling nostalgic Sunday when he put Ray Brown in the game... that's what he had to work with

Guys are playing at less than 100% because we don't have the depth to sit them.
