I hope our DT's can get healthy inbetween now and Sunday. That is really worrying me. If we shutdown the running and zone in on their passing we can really shut them down.

hopefully this will make you feel warm and fuzzy...

On whether he is worried about any of the defense's injuries:
"At this point in time, we think we'll have the bulk of them practicing tomorrow. A lot of them did a lot of things on the side today and looked pretty sharp. We're very fortunate. A lot of teams in the league right now are losing guys for the season. We're losing [guys] for a day or two of practice. At his time in the year, a day or two off helps their bodies heal a little bit. We feel pretty good about it right now."

Why, why, why do we always get these "emotion" games ? Remember the Limbaugh/McNabb thing ? We paid for that.
Even with all the new faces, the death of the owner is sure to have an impact. Shockey and Barber, in particular...both were invited to Mara's home during his last hours, and both are visibly shaken and deeply affected. (That could go either way, but these are professional athletes we're talking about.)
Add onto that that Antonio feels slighted, and you have a spirited first couple of defensive series from the NYG. After that, everything settles down, to hear Jansen tell it.
I'm holding this one close to the vest. At the swamp, with a mournful/frenzied fanbase...we win...17-13.

i just read an article that basically said we have no chance because the g-strings are playing so well right now and they are finding ways to win while we are just winning!
Am I missing something here? I mean the stats all indicate that we should win this game. The only thing they have "over" us is scoring - but that is all they can find. We are much better (not just better) on both lines. When you compare our offense do their defence and their offense to our defence, the match ups are all our way - We have a better secondary, we have better linebackers. We have the best WR (numbers/stats) in the NFL. We have (at this time) the best offensive line in the NFL. We have 1 great RB and 1 very good H back.
There is no comparison between the head coach or the head defensive coach!

Please explain that, given both teams playing well, how we lose this game?

I am very aware of the quality of 2 players (Shockey & Strahan) but when is anyone who matters in the analysis business going to understand that good teams always beat better players.

Now that being said I fully understand that on any given Sunday any team can have a lot of things happen for them, but, these guys are not even giving us a chance and that is just stupid.

Oh well - just cannot wait to see this game and I am feeling very good because I think both our lines are going to control the line of scrimmage and it all begins there.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I also will agree with this - but I think this Redskin team is playing very well and I think we are being a little overlooked.

Okay! I think that is fair BUT when you compare the O against their d and our D against their o, I think we have a better chance to win than we are hearing from the so called pundits.
What is pissing me off a little is that there seem to be a lot of people who do not think that we have much of a chance!
That is ignorant and there are a few players on their way to NJ to make a point.

Why anyone would predict a blowout for either side in today's NFL, I don't know. I take my lead from Joe Gibbs in these matters, and spend the whole week worrying about just how great the Giants are, and that the Redskins could really turn in a lousy performance.

But, for the record: if we win this week, I say we are going to the playoffs.

Last week? :nana:

Seriously though, many of us know that it probally wont be a blowout. However I am the leader of the bandwagon so it is my duty to make such predictions and expand the truth whenever possible.

I do not consider beating the g-strings by 3, 4 or 5 TDs as a blowout. This would just be their D not being able to stop our offense - this should happen because that is what we have seen from both their horrible D and our decent offense, so far this season.
Their offense on the other hand has not played against a decent defence and our D has played very well for the most part against some decent offenses.

Them being able to move the ball but not score much is to be expected. ](*,)

Redskins final score = 34, or 42 (maybe 48?)
g-strings = 16 (maybe 19?) sooner or later they are going to have to stop trying FGs as they are just not getting it done against a complete Redskins team.

This is not dominating people, this is the Washington Redskins :celebrate:

If Plax plays, the Giants win at home by 7... 27-20. If not, the Skins have a good chance b/c Toomer is not a #1 receiver anymore.

Skins improved, but let's not get carried away..The main difference between this year's team and last's is 37 year-old Brunnel, who, admittedly, is creating problems with his uncanny accuracy. But, one big win at home against the worst team in the league (by far) does not make the Redskins a favorite against all teams. The Giants offense is much more potent than the Skins and remember, the Skins are one missed FG by a top tier kicker from being 3-3. The line from bookmakers in Vegas, who know a little about the NFL, is the Giants by 3. Alos, the Wellington Mara thing can make this thing an emotional affair, and Burress has the talent to win his matchup with Springs, who hasn't faced a top flight WR all season.

This is what this guy from my fantasy league is saying to me on our message board. I'm replying to him and adding in a few things we have all said (good points) but year after year for the next 40 years he'll assume were "re-building+.

I'm sorry but anyone who thinks this has not really seen our team play this year! We are a better team, we have a better scheme and we have players making plays. On the O line alone, Jansen is back, Rabach is a better "fit" - there are a number of reasons but certainly not because of any single player.

..The Giants offense is much more potent than the Skins
Unbelievably but tomorrow the Giants offense wont be playing against the Redskins offense, we are going to "trick" them (it is halloween) and make them play against our defence. :D
They are a good offense but they have not played a D as good as ours.

The line from bookmakers in Vegas, who know a little about the NFL, is the Giants by 3.

The line or point spread has nothing to do with what Las Vegas thinks is the difference between 2 teams. IT IS A BETTING LINE. This is something a lot of people misunderstand. It means nothing - it is what the bookies have to "give" to get the same amount of money bet on each team. Why do people keep missing this?

We have proved ourselves against better teams than this one this year - we should be the favorites!

I'll agree with all of this less that last statement. We shouldn't be the favorites because we don't want the attention. Being the underdog is in :)
The bookies give the home team 3 points most of the time, so what does that really say about what they thing?

* 2nd best offense against the 2nd worst defense
* mediocre offense (15th) against #4 defense

there is no reason whatsoever this game should even be close. 34-21 redskins

So much for those stats. AHAHAHAHA. You were right though the game wasnt close. AHAHAHAHA.
