Yeah its tough, I went with Green because I have his jersey, but what I was really asking if you had to pick one of them when you need a reciever and a DB which one would you pick. I choose Green because of Durability and his influence on the community.

Under those conditions I would go with Green! When the actul draft took place I wanted the Redskins to draft Alan the cat Pinkett from Norte Dame. Goes to show what I knew

When it comes to Art, they are!

I voted Monk, his contribution to our winning three SBs was greater than Green's.

Just for the record, Art Monk did not play in the postseason in our first Super Bowl victory.

After meeting both, I can honestly say Art Monk, hands down. For me, not a tough choice!

I saw Monk play, the reason I picked Darrel is longgetivity. Monk when u needed a catch he made it, I remember him pancaking linebackers, now how many hall of fame recievers can do that. I think based in their primes, I would say their the same, but I gave the nod to Green because of how long he played and he was more active in the communtiy and that does help the franchise's rep. and the community also. Their is more to players than what they do on the field. That is why both are so great. They were great in the locker room, field, and community. Monk was great in the community, but he was no Darrel.

I never said he did. I was talking about his contribution to the team throughout the SB seasons.

Anyone who won't pick because of the position difference is a wimp. If you could pick ONE out of college to start an expansion team who would it be.

For me, it's not at all a hard decision, you gotta go with Darrel Green. Was he great at tackling? No, he was tiny, but he was AWESOME in coverage, he was the fastest man in the NFL and as such really stopped a lot of "home runs" from being hit against us.

He was THE best cornerback of the 80's and early 90's.

He was a great tackeler. He wasn't a hard hitter at all, but he rarely missed a tackel.

How can anyone say that "Darrell Green wasn't a tackler"? You must have clearly not watch Darrell Green over any great depths and time span. DG would hit you and he was always around the ball. I remember once Marty "Shottem" called DG a tackeling machine for leading the team in tackels with over 10 in one game!!!!!! DG FOREVER!!!! HE IS THE GREATEST!!!!!

No way can I choose between possibly my two favourite players of all time. I'm shocked that the poll results so far are so heavily against Monk though. But then it is more than a decade since he was last seen playing in DC, and memories are short.

I've already read that thread RiC, and I doubt there's anything I could add. But hell, maybe I'll jump in at some point.

I forget how long it is until Green is eligible for the Hall, but I've got a wacky dream about Monk, Green, Grimm and Jacoby all going in together, while Michael Irvin suffers a freak decapitation involving a crack pipe on his way to the podium (because you can bet these jokers will vote him in at some point).

You can say that again. You missed some stories about DG, let me tell you.
I've got one or two myself that I'd be glad to tell you, but you'll have to ask for 'em, since they's no good.
