Dude...Santana Moss did next to nothing in Ny...he had 1 decent season. Im not saying any of that was his fault. it's obvious the Jets didn't utilize his talents...But he didn't do much...Now he comes to washington and after 7 games...He has put up great #'s...better then ANY NFL WR...and you guys are prud of your new WR.
Does that make him the best WR in the NFL? Not even close.
Ill take Randy ,Marvin or Terrell ownes any day...and thats just off the top of my head. These men have proved over seasons they can put #'s up among the top NFL wideouts and they have done things on the field nobody else has done.
Im not crapping on Santana here...but for the love of god..he isn't the best WR in the NFL. Why do you want to fight this point to death? Do you skins fans really need for me to say he is the best so you feel better about the trade? Id already be happy if I was you.
You got a good WR there...but let's be somewhat realistic here.
I thought I was being fair.

Santana isn't the best WR in the league but he could be well on his way to be being one of the best. Who is the best really? TO? He hasn't done much this year. Randy hasn't been all that this year. Marvin and Peyton just recently found their grove again after a slow start. Moss is putting up good numbers and there is no reason to believe that this is a fluke. One game is a fluke, this is consistency and execution. Just because S. Moss doesn't fit the hot new WR mold does not negate him from being a possible best WR in the NFL. If this continues throughout next season then there will be no doubt and there is no reason it shouldn't barring injury.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!

I agree...Steve SMith & Santana Moss have proved you don't have to be 6'3 to play Wr in the NFL.
Next yr at this time If moss has burned up the league for 20+games...Ill give him serious consideration for one of the league elite Wr's. Top 5 material.

Moss is being refered to as the best WR in the league because if you look at the numbers that's where you have to put him. Because he didn't have more than 1 good year in NY doesn't take away from what he is doing this year and where that ranks amoung other receivers in the league. If anything it lends weight to your statement about it maybe not being Moss's fault.
Randy ,Marvin and Terrell would rank below Santana after week 7, and that is what the posters are talking about. Not what Moss did in a green and white jersey, but what he has done over the last 2 months.
Randy Moss has missed some time, Marvin and Peyton haven't clicked yet and TO is TO. You can rank them how you want, they all line up behind Santana in 2005. What they have done over the careers then talk to me when they retire.

Wrong, they are ranked there because they have been doing it consistently for 5+years. Moss...8games.
is that too hard to comprehend?
NOBODY who has had a hot 7 games should be considered the best WR in the NFL. Sorry.

After only 20 games .... Why 20?
I figured by this time next yr he would have played about 20 games....If he's this hot next yr he would deserve consideration by anyone for a top WR in the league. a full season would do.
but 8 games just doesn't hold much weight against what the 3 Wr's I named have done to EARN those top spots.

Look...Right Now Id take those 3 WR's over Santana moss in a Ny minute. Those 3 WR's are better then Santana Moss...regardless of his 7 game stretch here. Steve Smith was hot before the by week...do you really think Panther fans are falling all over themselves looking to declare their WR best in the league?
You must be out of your gord if you think any player can be considered the best at their position after a 7 game span.

Instead of being happy Moss is playing good and your winning games...You want to crown him with some BS title.
Why?

Numbers don't lie and as seen during the last few games he pretty much catches anything thats coming his way whether it be a screen or a deep ball from Brunell. As of now meaning this very minute I would take santana over the other recievers mentioned.

Hail to the Redskins,

How many bombs can you throw 1 WR?
What is not complete about him
Your Top 5 Receivers should be killing this incomplete WR in all stats colums, but are ??
Moss is leading all receivers in receiving yards Only 1 of your T5 are in the top 5
Owens has 6 more catches than Santana and he leads all wideouts Moss ranks #6 None of your other T5er are on point
Harrison is tied with 4-5 other WR in the TD category. Moss ain't one of them (Randy) TO and Santana both have 5 also.
TO would fit your definition of a complete player but so would S Moss. Marvin and Randy.....

I take back what looked like a dig against Moss...From what you told me he has played like a complete WR...so it take it back.

Dude I'm not trying to crown him anything. BTW Santana said he'll deal with all of that after the season.
So mewhere I did anything more than point out where others are getting thier opinions from.
Moss isn't winning games, he is helping his team win games. That's his job and what he gets paid to do.
Why does it sound like you are crying over spilled milk?
It's not Moss fault that The Jets didn't have a QB and he got out while the getting was good.
You can have those three guys you are so fond of. Gibbs has the guy he wants - That's what I'm happy about.
You on the other hand ... you are a loyal Jets fan, there is nothing I could sugest to you to make you happy... We all know Jets fans will never be happy.

For the most part I'd have the same group of guys in my top 5. Moss might not be there but he'd be close
Harrison's year will pick up, Randy will have to overcome Norv and I see trouble for TO coming. But they'll all finnish in the top 10 at worst come Christmas. Moss may or may not be ahead of them. As long as Santana keeps contibuting to "Ws" i can't complain

No you're right...Moss will break Jerry Rice's record...he IS the best WR in the NFl and Im just a disgruntled Jets fan who's jealous of all the success the skins have had.
Carry on

Don't go back to putting word in my mouth

I never commented on what Moss will or won't do this year or any game this seasom. Definatley not in this thread
Nor did I say he was the best receiver out there I'd said his numbers reflect him being the top guy this year. As usually you ramble on about what he couldn't do for the Jets over the past few years and throw in Randy. Terrell and Mavvin's career achevements. You knew Santatna would have inferior numbers for the past few years if for no other reason other than HE PLAYED FOR THE JETS.
As far as you being a disgruntled Jets fan who's jealous, let's get it right I said you still have egg on your face and you are sound like you are crying over spilled milk. If you want to go with the former instead of the latter that's cool too.

Well, considering that this is the first time he's been around since before the Dallas game, this is the first time people have had a chance to talk to the Smiz-man. Ever since the trade, the only thing we heard from him was that Sideline Santanna for The Toe was the steal of the century for the Jets. It's just fun to make him eat some crow.
