The Cowboys have released kicker Jose Cortez, who missed a 29-yard field goal and sent a kickoff out of bounds Sunday in a 13-10 loss to Seattle.
He was 12-of-16 this seasonand had made 13 of 14 extra points.
"I'm not trying to test Parcells," Cortez said Monday morning before he was released. "It's not like I go out there trying to miss kicks. I've missed four of seven kicks the last two weeks, so I need to work a little harder this week to figure out what's going on."
This sucks!!! I was just starting to like that guy. I mean, he missed a 29 yard field goal! You gotta love a puke that misses those. Oh well, Lets keep Novak on the roster for at least another week. We can't let the Cowboys take him.
"He's a playmaker, that's his label. They used to have strong safeties, but now they got another position: They're called playmakers." -Terence Newman on Roy Williams
I say keep Novak until after we play the Pukes, at least. Would Gibbs keep holding a roster spot that he's already figured out how to work around for that extra edge against the Cowboys? I certainly hope so.
uh... i think we all knew that cortez SUCKED, after his stint with us in 2002. so what i want to know is, presumably everyone else that was left was worse than cortez... who do the cowboys expect to find?

"Their where at least 100 kickers in Division 1-A college football last year and their is no one else besides Cortez who can kick the ball effectively?"
I say keep Novak, you never know if Hall might go down again...
The Eagles picking up Cortez is like what the Yanks tried to do by picking up Mark Belhorn midseason...only problem is they both suck..Belhorn still stuck out and Cortez will continue to shank kicks
Bruce has the authority. When Bruce makes the decision, it's a Redskins decision.
