I think a coach like JJ would have a big effect on a time. He's hands on, has face value if the Giants owner was just the dude who signs the checks than I doubt it'll have that much emotional play on their hearts.

They will dedicate the entire season to him. I think we'll see them play an inspired game this week.

Coughlin may try to use it as an inspirational and motivational point. Joe may even mention it to warn them against this motivation.

But in the end players are professionals. These teams will play equally hard regardless.

I think they'll play harder, but I still think the Redskins win this one.

I definitely think the Giants will play more inspired ball. It's going to be a battle but we've been in lots of those this year and Gibbs would never let his team lose sight of what they need to do.

I really can't see it make much of a difference.

Although they certainly don't need to "get up" for this game, playing an NFC East rival, I think the Giants will certainly play with a little extra passion this week to try to win one for the ol' fella and his family.

It will make about as much of difference as Antonio Pierce has for that defense.

I really do not think that it makes any difference.
If players can play "harder" for whatever reason then that means they are not playing hard enough. I think that Gibbs and Williams expect and get the most out of the players they can and this is because they are playing for each other.
No one can convince me that if you normally give it your all then you can "find" something more? No way! That means you were not giving it everything you have.

Thanks for the memories Wellington - you measured up well! Hope you have a great view of the game, looks like a nice day in NJ.
Remember Sam Huff? He and Sonny will call the action for you, enjoy!

HTTR

BTW - Gibbs and Williams are the best at motivating and preparing their players. IMO Coughlin is probably one of the worst motivators in the NFL. Can you imagine this guy asking you to give everything you have and lay it on the line for each other? No way! He has beady eyes and they are too close together to be worth anything.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

They will come out fired up, then when they double Moss and Patten goes in for a TD..the crowd will get quiet.

Then when Lavar Rips Tiki or Eli by the head and causes a fumble, they will get nervous.

When Portis walks into the end-zone, they will be de-moralized and start to leave.
SPIT HAPPENS!!

We played against a ghost today. I had a bad feeling about this since tuesday. This is all that anyone talked about and pity the skins for at least not trying to match the intensity. No doubt look for the "I told you so's" from the media. The only one who, I know of, didn't give us a chance this week was Randy Cross on sirius satellite radio. didn't put us in his top ten.

Oh well, we're not this bad and the Giants aren't this good.

Ok the dude is dead I get it, does fox have to mention it every three seconds. My favourite part of the broadcast is when they did the photo montage of Mara they play a green day song which is called "Good Riddance" Brilliant.

This thread is over! Any serious NFL fan understands that it all comes down to making the plays on both offense and defence. It is ridiculous to think that anything like this would affect anyone on either team to a way that they could "play the game" any differently than how they were coached to do it.

Wellington Mara will not affect the outcome any more than Gibbs or Williams can affect the outcome. They do not make any plays during the game or affect any plays during the game. That would be the same as insinuating there was a curse on a team against another.

This game was lost by the Redskins because they did not play well in any aspect of the game, not because of some great guy dying!
