santana's record pace
I searched the message boards to see if anyone has posted this yet a have not found anything. If this has been reported already my apologies.
in the squib kicks section of nfl.com it says that santana moss is on pace to break Rice's single season recieving record. Reading this now makes me want to root for Santana even harder.

An amazing feat for any receiver, but considering expectations for this offense it would be freaking incredible.

Man, if he breaks that record now that Rice is retired, Peter King will have to fight Rice's induction into the HOF, lest he look like a hypocryte.
RIP 21

How many bombs can you throw 1 WR?
Again, showing that you haven't watched any of his games. He's only caught about three or four long bombs. All the rest have been screens, crossing routes, etc... He is far from being the one dimensional reciever you think he is. If you check the stats I put down in the thread you started you will see that he is the most well rounded WR in the NFL this year. He does it all.

But he's on pace for like 1800+ yards... I was shocked!
It's very excited for all of us as SKINS fans to be witnessing this potential history in the making.
Isn't he on track for 2000+ yds!?

He still isn't the best WR in the NFL. He is having a great 8 weeks though.

No one is proclaiming him the best ever, but if he isn't the best right now, who is?

That's my point....RIGHT NOW HE IS PLAYING BETTER THEN ANY NFL WR. Does that make him the best overall WR in the league hands down? Of course not.

I can't believe you can come here and continue to argue against Santanna. We're quite happy with our little swap. You should be promoting The Toe, not cutting down Moss. How many deep balls has Coles gotten so far this season? Still not getting separation? I wonder why?

Hail to the Redskins!
WHo's here cutting down Moss?
Why because I won't say he's the best WR in the NFL?
Get off your high horse....He's not.
Who can say He's a hands down better WR then Terrrel Owens or Randy Moss? Marvin Harrison or Chad Johnson?
You can't be serious. Ill say it 1 more time for the SLOOOOOOOW posters...Santana Moss is having a better season then Coles and everyother WR so far. He has looked awesome.
He is not by any stretch of the imagination the best overall WR playing in the NFL. I don't care what his stats say after 7 weeks.

If people dont learn how to stop him soon he just might!
Good news either way.
The most likely route to improving coverage against Moss is to back the secondary off the line a little more, cheat some safety help towards Moss, and increase the coverage responsibilities of the LB's. That opens up the short passing game and the run game a little more, and we know that the Skins have plenty of weapons in that area, too. Brunell has demostrated that he is able to quickly work through his progressions, and find the open receiver. Portis is just waiting for a little more room at the line of scrimmage.
Backing things off to defend against Moss could cause a lot of hurt.
Could be win-win for the Skins. I think this is just about where Gibbs wants to be. Just hold on to the darned ball.

That bitter taste in your mouth is jealousy ... as for whether or not you are willing to call him the best wideout in the game right now, he doesn't need your blessings. Also, when you post in a Redskins forum and say Santana isn't a "complete" receiver, the tone of the responses shouldn't surprise you. You rode in here on a high horse, don't whine when you get knocked off.

Nice if he can keep pace, but you guys know as the season moves along players have their slumps. Hope Bruni and Moss do some more special things in the second half of 05-06 season. PRO-BOWL too, on top of a playoff birth, yesss
Go 06' Skins, Wildcard birth & please avg. more than 15 ppg.

I dunno and can't say I agree. Baseball = slumps. Football = poor execution. I know Peyton and Marvin started of slow this year but it was hardly a slump. Slump for them is great for us, lol.
