I see no reason to not believe him. He hasn't lied to us before. Everything so far has been skepticism. (lol, did I spell that right?)

Yeah you did..lol.I hope you are right. If what I have been hearing about Lavar speaking of the "team" on the radio and declining to comment on the playing time issue is accurate, I hope that he rights the ship here in Washington. I really don't want to see him go, and I think he could be a force for our defense that could push us from Top 5 to #1.

I also would love to see him in there, but Lavar will not put us over the top and up to #1. We have injuries at CB. If Springs gets healthy and Lavar plays extrememly well, then we might be able to get up there ;-)

The thing that people fail to realize is that blitzing will be nonexistant if Lavar is in there or not IF our CB's are injured. Jimoh will not be left in man coverage with no help.

Ive said that a zillion times. Now that both Harris, Springs and Rogers are playing....who woulda thunk it, Lavar will be in the game.

Healthy CB's + Improved play in practice = Lavar gets playing time.

30+ pages of stupid conspiracy theories put to rest.

Let's hope, CLL. And it'd be great if this was true, because we were a #5 defense even with a battered secondary and no Lavar. . .

So the whole time the coaches didnt think he was 100%.

I knew it had to be something to that effect because he didnt seem to have the bounce Lavar is known for.

Scheme??? Why was his learning of the scheme brought up last year?? It was his legs the whole time. Wonderful!!!!!

Oh..my bad. Your opinion is always right. I forgot. Springs injury was not serious. I think a healthy Lavar adds the only dimension that separates our defense from Tampa's...with Simeon Rice they get a consistent pass rush that forces the other team to change their schemes against them. They have to keep in a tight end or running back to chip him on virtually every passing down. This is significant for us.

What some of us fail to realize is that our starting corners whether it is Springs and Harris, or Rogers is not what kills us. What kills us is the fact that other teams can force us to use extra DB's because their offensive line can contain our D-Line pressure.

That forces us to use packages with more CB's in there i.e. Jimoh. If we can get Lavar to give us that threat off the line, then teams will have to double, leave a TE or Back in there, and our corners are not stretched as thin.

In my personal opinion, that could be the differnce in 280yds given up per game and 230. #5 vs. #1.

Had you heard about this?

And in an interview on Sporting News Radio shortly after filing the grievance, he explained to host James Brown that the crossroads of his career came when the Redskins wanted him to make a deal with the devil. A transcript of that interview on the Fox Sports Web site has Arrington saying that the original contract he negotiated, which included the bonus, was against his religion.
“[M]e and my agent, we are Christian people and we were alluding to the fact that there were three sixes in the total of the contract,” Arrington said. “Three sixes, I think if you are a Christian you know what three sixes means. It is the mark of the devil.”
He had asked the team to tweak the numbers in the pact to “get those three sixes off,” Arrington told Brown. They did some tinkering and sent him, and not agent Poston, the reworked version. He signed it without talking to Poston, then later found out the three sixes were removed by removing the $6.5 million bonus.

Not only did he decline to comment he asked in advance that the subject not be brought up.
Lavar is the face of the Redskins... some say was.
The truth is Lavar blew up a few time at the Front office, but not until he realized that he wasn't apart of the said office. Can you blame him though, He's went to the Pro-Bowl 3 times only to find out he had idiots handling his contract matters. I'm sure a year ago he knew the outcome of that one. He went on to miss signficant time on the field for the first time since he was a kid and then came back too soon. That didn't come out too well with a mike shoved into your face right after getting bad news. (It lasted a weekend but you let some tell it - it took away from the whole off-season) In all that he has went though I feel he brought it all on hisself and now is aware off it. He's put all that behind him and seems ready to move on. Coming to the end of this saga know one can say Lavar trashed any current teammate, and he all ways kept it in the context of the isuse (something most superstars can't seem to avoid0. He can now jump right back into the mix with his teammates

I don't remember the Coaches saying he was 100% now that I think about it. They said thing like "We're bring him along slowly" and "We are putting him in limited packages" As I have been saying he missed more than a year before he was fully cleared to practice. He's not in playing shape (but it sounds like he's getting there :D ). Lavar has been out so long I didn't even notice the bounce was missing. BTW I watched every play Lavar has played in since the start of last season. (never saw him freelancing - my biggest gripe with him). That means he pretty much as been doing the classroom work he just couldn't get on the field. He knows the schemes.

I'm sure this is sarcasim but it is so close to the truth.
A runningback that has to pause to check if he needs to chip of not may be late getting into the flat (60 yard screen that everyone wants add to the Chiefs rushing totals last week) or it give the CB time to shed the block and force the play inside to the help.

Our corners are used mostly in man to man coverage, this allows GW to utilize the linebackers and FS to pressure the QB. Some packages have the corners playing man-D while LBs blitz and DE cover the flats. Our corners cover WR not QBs (they are a bonus).
Ade Jimoh covers kicks not WRs if we can help it, lately we haven't been able to help it. Personally he as performed better than I thought he could.
Our corners were stretched thin late last year and we came into this year with fewer on the roster than we did last season (I still haven't figured that one out). We went into this year with 4 CB (two starters- a rookie-and the dude that won't get cut). Both starters went down and that's where we were.
Lavar can't cover a wideout any better than Ade. (I've been wrong before  this wouldn't shock me)

This is a old story that someone is trying to use to get his own agenda to the forefront.

Why is it on record that Carl Poston put is initials on each page before giving the contract to Lavar to sign? Only later to say they were rushed into signing it.

Thanks for the contribution GN

If you added a II to the title of your thread what should that tell you.

Can we not have the Mods merging threads?
It takes about the same amount of time to suspend someone for starting a thead on a existing topic.

Moving to the now Mega-Merge

Don't need any replys to this post... most off you can continue to follow the rules, some obviously need to be re-educated

FYI Great Natale: you'be been warned before This isn't a warning. Now you figure it out.

CYA Check your PM on the way out

I checked around and no one knew you where here (other than those of us cleaning up you dung) Don't think you'll be missed, that way you'll get somethng right in life.

Constantly moving and merging post that are generated by the same two year old week in and week out get to you some times.

For those that I've thrown off topic, I am sorry but this thread (like GN said) is 60+ pages long I just didn,t want to start a new thread to tell a poster that if they have nothing to say it's a good thing sometimes. I some posters cases it's a better thing more times than not.

Looks like Lavar will be playing this weekend.... I'll just put Great Natale on the PUP/status TBD list and we'll go from there

Actually Hogster, this is not MY opinion. This is in effect, what Greg Williams said. (total paraphrase) He said that he had to cover weaknesses at DB because of injuries and that is why we aren't getting as much pressure as last season. You and I also have vastly different opinions of how good Lavar is at DE. I think he could be better than anything we have on our roster, but he is in no way Dwight Freeney. It takes a heck of a lot more than freak ability to be that good....

That being said, I hope I'm wrong and Lavar permanently becomes our starting DE and makes us all (temporarily anyways)forget Mann and Manley!!!

I guess the org saw what has happened to Noble and his knee situation. This would explain why they're bringing these guys along slower than usual.

Lavar Proving himself

Post by gay4pacman »

Is he a starter after this week or what?? Leading the team in tackles and making three tackles behind the line of scrimmage seemed to have given him the push he needed, hopefully as a starting linebacker!

Alex Smith got a little "welcome to the nfl" from lavar after a five yard scramle!

I should have done a poll but am too "happy" after the huge win.

Lavar to start......Whos with me!!!??!!
