Hogs.net Consensus Draft Pick

Post by HitDoctor »

BH,

let' do an official poll to determine the Hogs.net official choice for the #5 pick. When the poll is final, let's beat the drum for the guy (articles, combine numbers etc.). What do you all think?

I'll start with.............Sean Taylor (should've had Doss last year)
it is what it is

8) i would also choose sean taylor, however depending on what happens in the next 2 months, trading down may be a better option to accumulate more picks

if we lose both the 2nd and 3rd picks this year - it almost becomes an imperative to trade down to recoup the lost picks, which might be in the back of Gibbs' mind.

In due time HD... we have the full draft site and obviously as time rolls nearer we will be covering our fair share of Skins stuff in there. we will probably do a full mock draft on the board etc...

.... but not for a while. The draft is two months away and with the combine just finishing up, and free agency about to start, it's senseless to start prognosticating the sequences of events that transpire.

What happens in the first week of free agency will DRASTICALLY lay things out, so I think about March mid-month is the time to pick up the predictions. That will give us a good month long run at the draft.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

And incidentally... if the Redskins do pick at #5, and Taylor didn't get picked by the Giants the pick before, I'm all for taking him.

And I don't really care about getting more picks for trading down if Taylor is still there... the guy is an absolute stud and in my opinion, the crown jewel of the draft.

i would agree with trading down with the 5th pick assuming that the other pick(2nd)isn,t there. any of the miami defensive guys. just trying to gauge the direction in FA that they will go in. i,m with skinsfaninroanoke here.

Yeah, Taylor

Definately Taylor...yeah, Taylor...ten minutes to Wopner, Definately, Definately Taylor. (Drooling) H*ll, maybe he could polish up Bowen's game and vice versa. T'would be a nasty combo over the middle...Bowen knocks his own players out in practice...think of what those two would do to a dump off pass, or the bootleg right that KILLED US last year.

I hope we don't trade down. We have to get Sean Taylor. Trading down should only be considered if Taylor is drafted by the Giants.

Sean Taylor would be an excellent choice for your team.

Might I suggest TE Winslow. Your offense would be stacked with some serious weapons.

Ok ready for something really off the wall. Reports out of Indy have this kid Gallery OT rated by some as the best player in the draft. Any chance we try to move Samuels (sorry Jake) if he won't redo his contract and take Gallery if he is still there??? All report out of New York say TC loves this guy. But if we got him we'd save $$$$$ of cap room for FA on defense

Well, if TC is me...I only love a player that doesn't let his agent hold his team hostage. If he does, he's fair game.

I understand the need for someone special, but to be honest, I would rather see them trade down, say with the Pats and get 2 #1 picks, or at worst getting a couple of later round picks.

We have holes to fill and unless we can get some cap friendly deals with some respectable free agents - which we seem to have room for, I admit, we are going to have to fill some through the draft.

While Taylor is awesome, is this as big a need as DL or TE where we have nothing?

I agree with Brandon777. Taylor is a must if he is available. If not, then consider trading down.
ps Can I also add to the list of teams hated the most....the Raiders because of what happened between SB XVII and SB XIX....I'm still emotionally scarred by it....
