U2

Post by Hoss »

Just got back from the U2 concert tonight at MCI Center.

The guys were tight. It was good to see a band that wasn't a bunch of 'fluff' and filled the arena with beautiful music! They only played a little over 2 hours though. :(

They will be playing again tonight. Those who have a chance to see them will not be disappointed.

they will ALWAYS remember how you made them feel.

I was there last night also. They were awesome. I had too many stadium beers though, and I am feeling a little rough today.

I've been to a couple of shows at the MCI center, but have never been a fan of the sound quality. (RFK is worse). I tend to try and see bands in the smaller venues or ones designed for shows, like the Tweeter Center in Philly and some of the smaller theaters in Baltimore, or Wolftrap. Also, places like the 9:30 club give a different feel (they can be pretty loud). . .but I just have never liked stadium shows. Of course, that is where all the big-name bands play. . .so I guess it's a balance. . .

Glad to hear that the show was good. I'm already getting excited for next summer's shows. . .

I agree about the smaller venues. Constitution Hall downtown is actually a great place to see shows. I have been there a few times. The 9:30 is good also, although I went and saw the Black Crowes there a few weeks ago and the sound quality was not great.

I disagree about Constitution Hall. I've seen several bands at the 9:30 Club and caught their next leg at Constitution - the sound sucked in comparison. They've done a lot to upgrade their sound system but I prefer the 9:30 or Black Cat. It's not a bad place but there are better. That said, I saw U2 during their last tour and again last Thursday night at MCI - they were awesome both times. After growing up and seeing them at RFK and other outdoor venue's, they make the MCI Center feel like the 9:30 Club. They rocked the house...
