Just curious, how many people feel the same optomism I feel.

I'm with you, Scooter. Our good start is no fluke. We will make the playoffs in this year's toughest division in football, and we will certainly turn heads the rest of the way. We need to get healthy on D and maybe mix in Lavar a bit, when ready, and we will get our core Redskins a taste of the playoffs.I wanna say Super Bowl, but 5 games into the season is just to soon, IMO.
Back and better than ever!

I think that we will win the NFC East. Whether or not that is good enough for a bye week in the playoffs might depend on the record of the South Winner and our ultimate record. The NFC north is off to a pretty bad start. And Brian Griese is out for the year in Tampa.
Although you can't predict with certainty the playoff picture, I think that if we win the East and obtain a bye, then going to the Championship game and possibly the Superbowl are attainable goals.
I really believe this. I am confident that our defense will start forcing turnovers, and with our new offense we will start beating teams soundly. Philly's defense is a liability, the Giants have no Defense. Cowboys...well they are the Cowboys.
Tampa and Atlanta are the only other teams that have great defenses and that is what wins games in December and January.

I voted for a winning season. The NFC East is going to be tough and pretty much up for grabs, so its hard to say for sure about winning the division or the playoffs.
I have to say whether we make the playoffs or not, it feels so freaking good to watch this team on Sundays now and feel like the team is playing good football and has a chance to win every game.
Thank you, Joe Gibbs.

For the first time, I'm actually thinking optimistic. I think we'll make the playoffs. The offense is churning with just some small mistakes. Once they get the the turnovers off their back, we'll be a capable team for the playoffs! Our defense needs to improve their game just a little!

The way were playing, we have to make the playoffs... the 2 losses aside...
We all see how were work'n that ball on offense, we have CP in the backfield with Betts and the best QB/WR combo in the league... oh and a great TE... this is what we were missing last year.. well now we got it.....playoffs here we come!

Our Defense needs to step it up to the point it was at last year. This year they are giving up too many big plays. They are still holding opponents to under 300 yards total offense, but the last two weeks big plays have beaten us.
My children, gather round! No retreat, no surrender; that is Spartan law. And by Spartan law we will stand and fight... and die. A new age has begun. An age of freedom, and all will know, that 300 Spartans gave their last breaths to defend it!

Better than I did last year at this time!
It is going to be a tough rest of the season, but I hold out hope we can but the turnover bug behind us and make the playoffs. If we continue to make the same mistakes . . . well there is always next year.

I think that we will make the playoffs but we need to better manage things like "Ramsey-gate" and "The Lavar Conspiracy" and not let them become distractions to the fans, gives the media ammo, which in turn frustrates the hell out of our players and coaches having to answer these questions everyday and not focusing on the opponent.
We realistically haven't had one week since the season opener where we are strictly focusing and talking about the opponent....

Considering the comparative strength of the NFC East teams, hers's some food for thought.
Does A Winning Season = Making the Playoffs?
And, does Making the Playoffs = A Winning Season?
And, finally, which one would you rather have?
I voted for making the playoffs, because from there, anything is possible.

I had a feeling with 2 back to back games on the road in the west coast that we would probably lose both games. Denver is good and playing in arrowhead stadium is never an easy task. Being in both of those games says a lot about our football team. Nobody thought our offense would be able to produce like it has.
Washington will be around during the playoff hunt. Our division is looking to be a very tough one but I think we will be there untill the very end.

Agreed... I voted for winning season as well. Once we start actually blowing out some teams and playing well in all phases of the game in a particular game will we actually be a playoff team on my mind.

I voted going to the Superbowl. That's what I thought we would do before the season began, and I've seen nothing to change my mind. Who is so dominant in the NFC? Am I supposed to be scared of Atlanta? Philly? All of these teams have weaknesses that can be exploited, and there are no dominant defenses in the NFC. (No, not even Tampa.)
This team has played better and better each weak. Mental mistakes have resulted in the losses, and as the team works and practices (and players become more familiar with a system that they've only known for a year), we will get even better.
The schedule is tough, but once we get into the playoffs, a Gibbs-coached team will be very difficult to beat.

I agree, but am still being cautious and voted "not there yet, but moving forward".
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.
