If anything, you have to thank Rock Cartwright's strength trainer, who isn't giving him enough hand or forearm exercises, and the people at the buffet places that overfed the refs, thereby permantly wedging the flags in the refs' pants during the its-a-miracle-no-one-in-a-zebra-uniform-did-not-call-a-hold on Priest's TD run. That was embarassing.
You escaped a humbling defeat at the hands of ANOTHER NFC East team. Congrats on the moral victory of not screwing it up.
that's kinda lame, aint it? There were excuses to be made after we lost to Philly (after being up 18 or whatever). But Philly just came back and kicked our ass.
Your defense is good, but our offense performed better with Willie Roaf back at LT. And our revamped D did just enough to slow the Skins O down, and come away with the victory.
You really think the credit for this victory is due to the refs not throwing a flag?
We lost the games not the refs, but they did help: 4th and inches Priest didnt make it, bad spot by the refs. Think about it we would have been in scoring position already with 5mins left.
Let us not also forget some ticky-tacky PI calls, and a phantom "roughing the passer" call on Mr. Redskin himself, Marcus Washington.

He was definitely short (by about a yard). We should have challenged the spot. But the reason we lost was our turnovers. We beat this team in every statistical category, but turnovers and score. Sorry cmh6476, but we beat ourselves yesterday.

First and foremost, please accept my congratulations on the win, seriously. I understand that a win is always a win. Period.
However, to say that your O played better must not be saying much about your offense to begin with. Priest Holmes being held to 15 yds in the first half??? (Not to be confused with Priest needing some holding in order to break long runs on the Skins ) Behind a line anchored by Willie Roaf????!!!
BTW - Did Tony Gonzalez even suit up for the game???
If anything, kudos to the Chiefs defense, which saved the Chiefs hindquarters, literally, from losing the game.

By better, I'm saying the pass protection. Having Willie Roaf back really protected Trent's blind side, and allowed us to run the offense we wanted. We're still not where we need to be, but I saw some things yesterday that made me fell better. You guys didn't put any pressure on Green, and we still did ok in the running game.
You guys have a great defense, and we did about average I would say. Moved the ball, 2 offensive TDs and 2 FGs. Not anything spectacular, but I feel a lot better about this offense now that Roaf is back.
As for Gonzo, they threw to him early, and that made the Skins commit to him early, and opened up other opportunitites for our offense.

I hear what you're saying, and I can't really speak about your team's offensive progress, or whatever. However, I will say this.
Your victory over the Skins will definitely carry a lot more weight toward the end of season, especially when you see us holding the Lombardi trophy way up high at SB XL.

We haven't gotten pressure on any quarterback this season, so I wouldn't take the lack of pressure as a sign of your line necessarilly gelling.
The truth is, you needed help from a couple miscues by the Skins' Offense, bad reffing, and a banged up Skins' Defense to win at home after a bye week. That would have me a little worried if I were you.

And let's not kid ourselves. If we all saw the same game, we all know that "G-R-E-E-N" wasn't the only green on Trent's jersey after the game. For a couple stretches in the game, we brought the heat on your QB.
