Goin to my first Skins game...

Post by Redskins4Life »

November 20th against the Raiders I'm gonna be attending my first Skins game. My friend's parents won some type of raffle and we got first row seats in section 139 right on the corner endzone so I guess they're pretty good tix. His parents don't care for football too much so they're letting me and my friend take the metro and get to the game. I'm wondering if any of you regulars have any advice on getting autographs and how much earlier I should arrive before the game, etc. I'm gonna be wearing my Arrington jersey and it would be awesome if I could get LaVar to sign it but I'll take any autographs that I can get. :feedback;

Congrats to both of you. Things are really starting to turn around over at FedEx. The stream of people leaving early (in disgust) have certainly decreased in size, and people are learning to have faith in this team.

I can remember as recently as two seasons ago dreading going to the stadium, since people would walk out on the team in the 3rd quarter when the Skins would fall behind.

I've been to one game, so far, this year, and it's like night and day, in comparison to even last year. Team spirit is certainly on the rise. It was a blast, and I know you'll enjoy it, as well.

Be safe, and enjoy the game!!!
Back and better than ever!

Three rules:

1. Tailgate your butts off pre-game.
2. Yell your heads off during the game.
3. If you do the wave, you will be summarily punished.

Actually, I agree....but since the fans will never get that right, I just think the wave should be banned outright.

Nope Justice, that's like taking away beer just because of the high instance of DWI! Just doesn't seem right.

As a fellow first time a few tips - tailgate with the hogs.net tailgate in green lot A75

You will love the game (I know I did) - get to the game early and see all the pregame hype

Get a game magazine but take correct change (15 dollar notes puts an awful strain on the wallet stitchings)

Yell and cheer - loud and often - but only at appropriate times

Stay til the finish and soak up every single moment

(footnote: I arrived back in Australia this morning safe and sound.)

One 15 dollar note equals 5 three dollar notes, right?

On a related note, I'm going to my first Skins game at Fed Ex when they play the Chargers on Thanksgiving weekend. I'm driving up from Greensboro, NC either that day or the day before. It'll be my first Redskins game since last christmas IN that city in Texas, and my first home skins game since Nov. of 95 when I was 10. A couple of questons:

Are there any hotels within walking distance?
Where is lot A75 located in comparison to the park, if I was using google earth?
How early do the parking lots open before the game?

Hotels - Comfort Inn at Fed-Ex was where I stayed -Its 15-20 minute walk to Fed-Ex and it is close to I-95 (just off Central Ave)

try booking thru hotels.com (have never had problems doing it that way)

Directions: (walking only) From Inn go left to Central ave, turn left along Central to first traffic light, turn right and you walk straight in to Fed-Ex, Gate A is straight in front of you and the hogs.net tailgate is away to your left)

Lot A75 is just up to your left (at the top of the rise) if you walk from Comfort inn as you reach the entrance to the car parking area

Parking Lots open 4 hours before the game

the Inn was good - it has a swimming pool but it was not open
