Joe Gibbs

Post by robearlyii »

Hi everyone, Ive been a long time reader and decided to finally make my first post. Ive been a long time Redskins fan since the earliest of Gibbs first run.

I guess tonight Im a bit concerned about him. I just watched his 10/14 interview on redskins.com and I must say that he did not look well. He almost looked upset or nervous or sick or something like that.

Did anyone notice this after watching that post practice interview? Maybe he is nervous because so many people are out with injuries, maybe it was a bad practice today, maybe the Lavar issue is getting to him, or maybe his diabetes is causing problems.

Does anyone have any insight into what might be wrong?

welcome rob ;-)

my guess is that his sugar was low. Normal thing for diabetics. Or maybe he just needed to go to the bathroom really bad lol...

I wouldn't make too much from it. They say that he's actually healthier than when he was here the 1st time. The way Danny admires him, I wouldn't be shocked if he has nano machines that are linked to Dannys PDA. If Gibbs got the runs, Danny would know and would send a Hopkins medical staff to his home.

I noticed this a few weeks back, then Inoticed it's the same every weekend before the game. Seems to coincide with all the "how great the opposistion is and what a tough time the team will have spin he puts on every weekend

I know what you mean but attribute entirely to his aprehension - gamne face - of and for the coming game. I've watched all the films. In the early parts of week and can crack jokes...be jubilant some, but the closer the films get to Sunday the more serious he seems to become.

Thanks for all the feedback. Guess theres nothing really to be worried about. Makes sense that hed get much more serious the closer the game is.

I think that is amazing that they say he is healthier than the first time....I wonder why? I know when I heard about him having diabetes, I added him to my prayer list. He is older, and reminds me of my father--such a good, solid man, a one in a million classy leader that the world is so lacking in. I pray, that the stress does not affect him too much, and that the fun, joys & victories just propel him to an even longer life.

and that's a classy post!
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Hello everyone, long time "lurker", first post. Joe is fine, did you see how uptight and short with answers he was the Friday before the Dallas game? The closer the game gets, the more "in the zone" he is. Joe has it covered.

I am pretty much repeating what has been said, but if you have watched any of his videos when it is close to gametime, Gibbs always looks like he is about ready to hurl. The biggest thing I've noticed about the team this year is that the entire team puts 110% into winning. In other words so much work is put into winning that there is tremendous pressure on Gibbs, and he feels it. I don't know about all of you Skins fans, but this is some nail-biting football that Joe Gibbs has us playing and I love it. It does raise my blood pressure though. :D There is definetely a different feeling when I watch the games this year over last year. Expect the pressure to mount as the season continues!

Gibbs always looks like he is about ready to hurl.

He has always looked that way, although the '92 season was the worst. Half the team should have been on IR, but played anyway. Mark Schlereth, for instance, played the entire season with a broken bone in his leg. Interesting comparison: Schlereth in '92 and Jansen's playing with two broken thumbs this season. I don't know which is worse.

Maybe the point is that both wanted to play all out for Gibbs, who was universally ridiculed for being too soft for today's players and too hard. Sometimes by the same reporter on alternate weeks.

Gibbs' face looks thinner than ten years ago, but his middle is thinner, also. I think he's in good physical shape. Remember that in May or June he had a stent to clear a tightened coronary artery. That indicates that the team is watching him closely. (There are no easy indicators for clogged arteries.)
