Thinking about going to Chiefs game...
Anyone know how Chief games are? Sight lines and stuff?
Also, how are the fans? Are the fans ok, or are they rude? Don't feel like going to a game with people screaming obcenities and such.
Never wanted to do that again since the hell that only a few visiting (Georgia game) fans gave my section and I last year. Wouldn't be able to stand a few hundred for three or four hours.

what are sight lines?

The fans are great. I think we're very hospitable, iunless you're a raiders or broncos fan

The tailgating is a blast. Acres of parking lot with nothing but beer drinking and tailgating!

We just took a TV down and sat out in the parking lot vs philly!

I imagine he's referring to how well you can view the field from the seats. Some stadiums are better than others I'd assume.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!
Man, I am scared about playing at Arrowhead. That is one noisy place. Hopefull we will be able to complete lots of 3rd down conversions, those always seem to quiet the crowd.

It's a great stadium with no "bad" seats to speak of.One of the nicest stadiums still to watch a football game.It is a sea of red and it is LOUD!!!!!! The fans love their team as we do,but are pretty knowledgeable and you can go their in your opposing teams attire and root for your team without too much trouble. It is always a sellout, but I think we can do well there if we can overcome the noise.I like the Chiefs,as they are my "adopted" team, but I think they play a little soft and if we come in and play tough,I feel we can take this game, but it won't be easy.I'll be sitting on the lower level at the 35 yd line in my #9 Jurgensen jersey rooting on my 'Skins!!!

The stadium is awesome (section 304, row 5, seats 6,7, and 8; my wife's had the tickets since the late 80's). There's not a bad seat in the house, even at the top. VERY LOUD. In the lower sections, fans will stand the entire game, so don't expect to sit if your seats are in the 100-level. Good selection of food and beverages, but I definitely suggest tailgaiting (you're welcome to come to ours!!), especially considering the prices.
The fans, well, it depends. Not generally rude, but you can come across the occasional idiot who'll give us all a bad name. Lot's of fans came in from Philly for the last game, and I thought I was actually IN Philly with the chanting, singing, and dancing they were doing (how'd that work out in Big D, boys?). No incidents, though, and generally if you don't jaw with other people, they won't jaw with you, kind of like going to Caps-Flyers or Caps-Rangers games at the old Cap Centre back in the day.
Definitely one of the best stadium experiences, plus it should be a pretty darn good game.

Braden's right,it's one of those few stadiums that you should try to make it to in your lifetime. The noise is incredible and the tailgating is renowned and second to none (though Madden picked Green Bay over KC).I will hit the parking lot no later than 9am for the noon kickoff and we will hang out afterwards for a few hours with nothing but food, beer and fun on our minds (and hopefully a 'Skins victory!)

Wow, reminds me of FedEx Field.

People may not remember exactly what you did
or what you said....

they will ALWAYS remember how you made them feel.

i'm flying out from L.A. to see the game in KC with my best friend. i've been a skins fan since the days of george allen & my best friend is a chiefs fan. from what i've seen so far, chiefs fans are very corteous. they are also very fun to hangout with, not confrontational at all. they are also such diehard tailgate partiers, that they even have a pre-tailgate party outside the parking lot before it opens. & speaking of tailgate parties, does anybody have any info on where the hogs.net & skins fans will gather for tailgate partying, or will they be just spreadout all over the parking lot?
hope to see some of you there. can't wait to sink my teeth into that famous K.C. barbecue.

We'll be in Lot D, which is on the Southeast side of Arrowhead. It's a reserved lot for parking, but anyone can walk over there, so we'll be happy to hook up with other Skins (and Chiefs) fans there. I know that some of the corporate and group tents will be in the same area, so those of you attending the game through Redskins Travel may have more information on those types of events. All are welcome to PM and/or e-mail me, and we can set up a time and place to converge. I'm always happy to share beverages and food with my Redskins Brethern. If people are coming into town early, we can always meet up the day or night before the game also. Just let me know!!!
As for KC BBQ, everyone has their own opinions and favorite places, but mine is Jackstack BBQ, which has two locations: One is south of Kansas City, in a little town called Martin City, and the other is downtown right across from Union Station. A bit on the expensive side, but I think it's the best stuff in town. A more famous, and almost as good, place is Arthur Bryant's, which is just east of downtown KC. It's very informal and less expensive than Jackstack. Honestly though, you really can't go wrong with any KC BBQ joint, as they all have their own distinct flavor and appeal.
Beef is also very big out here in the Midwest, so visitors can hit a variety of steak restaurants. Much like BBQ, it's all budget-dependent. One of the best and **most** expensive is Plaza III. The Hereford House has four or five locations around town, and offer very good steaks for a good price. The Golden Ox is one of my favorites, mostly for the ambiance. It's one of the oldest steakhouses in town, and their food is pretty good also.
Sorry to get off on a tanget like this!! I moved to KC from Springfield, VA back in 2000, and while it's definitely a change of pace, it's a great city, with a lot of great places to eat, drink, and have fun. I just hope everyone has a good time, both in town and at the game.

Hope everyone who attended the game as a 'Skins fan had a good time at Arrowhead. The weather was great, even though the result of the game was disappointing. I ended up going in my DG jersey, and the regulars in my section gave me hell. I actually got booed by my friends as I walked to my seat!! One guy next to me said "Now I know why you were screaming so loud at the Eagles game." Overall though, it was a good experience, and it was great to finally see the Redskins play in person (my last game at FedEx was in 1999), especially with Gibbs coaching. The biggest downer of the day was watching Lavar pacing the sidelines, only getting into the game for a couple of punts. Obviously, that's another topic for another forum, though.
DEHog: Glad you got to hit some BBQ joints here in town. You can't go wrong with either Gates of Jackstack!! "Hi, mah ahh help you?"
