complete bullcrap "Touchdown"

Post by die cowboys die »

tatum bell's 2nd "Touchdown" was in fact sprung by one of the most insanely obvious illegal blocks in the back i have ever seen. it was plain as day during the play, and then as they were going to commercial, showing the replay, you could actually see it IN SLOW MOTION. i am watching it again right now over and over on my tape of the game, frame by frame, full speed, slow motion, and there is no possible way it is not an OBVIOUS penalty.

bell comes around the corner, and there is 53, marcus washington being occupied by a blocker but has a chance to make the play if he can shed his block. then 86 putzier on the broncos who is sort of "lead blocking" for bell SHOVES MARCUS WASHINGTON FROM BEHIND. and i mean FROM BEHIND, literally exactly 100% behind him, not even at a tiny, tiny angle, let alone from the side, and especially not from the front. and it was not a tap, he put both hands on his back and took at least a few steps while pushing washington in the back!! somehow, he managed to still stick and arm out and get an arm on bell, who then slipped away to run off for the TD.

HOW ON GOD'S EARTH WAS THAT NOT CALLED??? WE GOT COMPLETELY SCREWED. WE WON THE GAME.

i will try to post a picture of this happening in case we have any doubters.

Let's see, FG taken away = 3 ps. TD taken away = 7 pts (assuming we kick the xtra pt.). Safety taken away = 2 pts. Blocked kick? Don't even need to throw that one in there. Hmmm, let's see, that's 12 points. Wow. 31 -21 would have looked great. Even in losing Howie said the Skins impressed him. On to forge out a "W" in KC.

Don't blame the refs.

They were bad, but we caused alot of mistakes for ourselves.

yes, we made plenty of mistakes. but they are ours to make. the refs, however, must do their jobs at least decently in order for the outcome of the game to be even remotely fair and have any resemblance to the reality of what happened on the field. i think we can all agree that the officiating throughout that whole game was absolutely ABYSMAL (one of the worst jobs i have seen a long time). games are supposed to be decided between two teams, not by what fantasies and delusions are going on inside the head of a ref who isn't paying attention and doing his job.

I agree that the refs were absolutely aweful. I was actually wishin the head ref would stay out in hopes that the calls would improve.

Did the plethora of bad calls seem slanted against us? I thought so, but then again, I'm hardly unbiased. I'd imagine the Bronco fans were saying pretty similar things. Bottom line, the refs sucked HORRIBLY throughout the whole game on both sides.

I agree. Let's move past this worrying about the refs. We had some good and some bad luck in our first 4 games. We could have won today regardless of what calls were or weren't called. It comes down to the fact that we still had a good shot at the end of the game. We should be in a good situation at the end of most games this year. Our offense is really starting to move the ball. Pretty soon, we will start piling points on the scoreboard.

All that counts is the W. Denver got it today. Kudos to them. We'll probably get it next time. Hopefully we'll get that chance this year ;-)

We got a solid team here that it only getting better. Expect playoffs. minimum....

Correct.

Today was you genuine NFL Football game today. Tough, messy, sloopy, defensive, muddy...

The Refs didn't lose the game for us, nor did Mark Brunell. Plain and simple, the Broncos won (barely).

Yes my day is ruined, but it was a great game and I know we will bounce back next week.

True, the refs were just horrible but they made a lot of bad calls in our favor as well.

WHATEVER the reason, it is twice that we get a FG blocked in two consecutive weeks. This STINKS!

We will ALWAYS have the zebras against us.

Ade Jimoh MUST GO! We will be in trouble in the absence of Harris and Springs. What were they thinking when they kept him???

If you had your day destroyed, I hate this week.

I am looking at the replay right now, in HD even. The ref is looking right at Bell, and Washington is directly in front of him. There is no way he should have missed that call.

I can't totally agree with this. Most of the yardage gained today was on the ground...and by freak plays at that. Minus the one play that I can remember...I think he was pretty solid for playing the #2 corner spot. He SHOULD have had a safety/sack for 2...and laid a NICE lick on a receiver over the middle causing the incompletion and stopping the drive. He's made PLENTY of mistakes in other games, but tonite I don't feel was one of them. Let me go on record as saying that I'm not driving the Ade Jimoh fan VW Bus, but I have to stick my neck out for him for tonite's game.

I agree, Jimoh actually played quite well even though he got beat on the TD. Best I've ever seen him play by far.

back in the 1980's officials were not perfect, but they were full time refs & far better than officials today. unfortunately, there is one new aspect of the game that a hall of famer like joe gibbs cannot do anything about, & that's clumsy officiating. lets face it, week after week in many games offcials miss obvious calls that a blind man can see & call penalties that jehovah himself cannot pinpoint. inarguibly by far the three stooges can do a better job.
when all is said & done, the skins have nothing to be ashamed of. we played hard, we made our mistakes as much as the next team. philly got their asses handed to them by the same team we beat down in the cowgirls.
inspite of the fact that we're tied with the giants, our schedule is much tougher than the g-strings.
the skins are not the flashiest team in the nfl, heck we never were & thats never been our image. but we are the toughest junk yard dog inthe league & we take crap from nobody.
all i can say is that we're going places.

Welcome to the board.

The refs in the 80's were not full time. I agree that they were better but I think that's because the game was not as fast. I think ref's need to become full time for this reason.

I was screaming the same thing at my TV. There was no way Bell could have sprung for a run that big without any illegal. The hole for him to run through was huge.

The Bronco's O-line is BS. They are the biggest cheap-shot artists in the league.

There were some terrible calls. What about the safety that was called back under the tuck rule -- Plummer didn't seem to think he tucked since he went scrambling back for it.

I'm also torked about the Bell touchdown and holding. There was a definate hold.

The league needs full time refs!!

IMHO, the refs were terrible. Not in favor of either team. There were terrrible calls and non-calls on both sides of the ball.
