Salary Cap Casualties...

Post by PhinstiGator »

Just curious... What players do you all believe will have to be released to squeeze under the salary cap do to your recent Free Agent activity?

Just Bruce Smith (RETIRE) -save 6.5 MIL
Lional Dalton
Jermaine Haley
Jesse Armstead (possible)
Byron Chamberlain
There are a few others too.

Those 5 right there will save a lot, almost 10 million. I think we already are 6 million under.

The new cap figure of $80.5 million released last week, meant that with franchising Champ ($6.8 mil) we were sitting at about $2 mil in available cap.

Brunell will cost about that $2 mil... his sb will prorate to about $1.1 and then his base salary on top of that.

Bryan Barker is missing from that list... he's about $800k more. i have listed the various cap casualties and their figures in various other threads, so when i have a moment, I'll post a link.

Obviously, if Champ leaves via trade, we immediately get that $6.8 million back too.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
