Seattle Coach Mike Holmgren, in a conference call with reporters, spoke in glowing terms about Gibbs, saying he was "one of the men I've looked up to in my career since I was a high school coach in San Jose.
"He can't do much wrong in my book," Holmgren said. "He's the model of what you should try to be in this business. He's a wonderful human being, a good Christian man and a great coach. I don't know why he would want to get back into this meat grinder. But he'll get done whatever needs to be done there."
Joe had good words for Holmgren in yesterday's inetrview at Redskin Park.
Holmgren does not need to kiss anybody's butt. He is telling the truth about his feelings. How often have you heard Holmgren say similar things about other coaches?
No? Neither had I.
As to the "experts" ...
... I have said that coaches know much better what is reality and what is "looking good" riding some other team's bandwagon.
Did you see Lovie Smith's face? Did you see Bill Parcell's face? The only reason we do not see "experts" faces in discomfort is because they hide to speak/write about other teams and games.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
