I love my team, and even starting 2-0, looking at the remaining schedule, can we really expect the Skins to do any better than 8-8? In KC, Denver, Tampa & St. Louis. Home with Oakland, Seattle & San Diego. Two with the Eagles, two with the improved Giants, and another tilt with Dallas. That's 11 tough games left. Assuming there's no upset against Arizona and the 49ers, and that's assuming a lot, they'd still have to win 5 or more of 12 tough games. I can't see it happening.

I look at it in reverse. The Giants and Eagles have to play the Redskins twice. Let them worry.

No more "Norv Turner" attitudes. Let's take our attitude back to a coach who preceded Norv.

I hope the optimistic posts are the correct ones when the dust settles. Heck, I hope I'm wrong. For what it's worth (probably not much) I did only miss one game on the pool this week, well, two if Denver holds on. But I'm not saying I'm so smart. In fact, some of the replies made me think twice.

For instance, The Raiders are 0-3 and are coached by Norv. Good point. Really good point. And the post about some of our fans, probably myself included, being a bit jaded. The offense has been so lousy for so long, it's understandable to see it happen. Or is "realistic" a better word than "jaded"? Truth be told, there's MUCH more unrealized optimism appearing on this board than unrealized pessimism (SP?). And finally, there is very real truth to the post that at least one team is a big surprise every season. Why not us?

Okay, I've recognized and considered these very well thought out, and valid points. After due consideration, my prediction for the Redskins record at season's end.....

8-8.

Sure, it gives them a chance to heal, but it also hinders the momentum of that big win in texas. I really, really hope we kick some Seahawk butt, but I'm not prepared to guarantee a win. Plus, beyond this Sunday, nobody knows what will happen.

Nice RRP quote in your sig. I have that on tape.
True, Seattle can maul you if you let them. Ray Rhodes is starting to get back into it, and Holmgren can do a number on you.
I wonder if Springs has anything for us to chew on ?
As far as the predictions go, I'm no good at it. Let me chime into the mantra "One game at a time".

Its still way to early in the season for anyone to make predictions about some of the teams we got left on the schedule. WAS anyone watching KC get rolled by Denver?? Or whats going on with the Jets, everyones pick for a playoff team? WIth the Defense playing as they are, and the momentum after last monday night, im convinced anything can happen.

good points, MBN. every year towards the end of the season, i remember how important the 1st 3 games seemed and how the teams looked, and how differently everything turned out, and i try to tell myself "next year, remember that this all means nothing!". i usually don't hold up to that, but this year i am doing a good job of keeping it mind.

none of it means anything. are the broncos as good as they looked tonight? i'd be shocked. KC looked like they were asleep the entire game. are they that bad? i'd be shocked. let's just see what happens.

And now we find that McNabb not only has a bruised sternum, but an abdominal strain that has had a definite impact on his passing accuracy. Anybody watching the Iggles this past Sunday saw him over and under-throw a lot of wide open receivers, and his running was non-existent. So with our D, I see us taking at least one from Philly. Then there's the Giants. Eli got shown on Sunday night for what he is, basically still a first year QB with less than stellar support in some key areas (take away his TE, and he wouldn't have much in the way of passing yardage). So I can easily see us splitting with the Giants as well. That'd give us 3 divisional wins, and if we can repeat with Dallas... oh, be still my beating heart (and I'll be the first one to admit that I thought we were going to lose in Dallas, which made me quite unpleasant for the first 55 minutes of the game - thanks for pointing me back on the right track, NikiH!)!!!

I am guilty of looking ahead and thinking about all the possibilities but thankfully the players and coaches are only looking at winning the next game.

Like TCW said "one game at a time" - You cannot beat anybody (or lose) that you are not playing. Just like every season and every week - there are some incredible results that cannot be predicted, no matter how good some are at "seeing" the outcome.

I remember in Boss Hog's post he was recalling "looking" at the game and seeing things that he thought meant THE game with the girls could be a win because of how he felt the game within the game was being played. Now, there were an awful lot of us who did not see the possible win - he not only saw it but called it!

I will repeat - there will be an awful lot of support for our team this week - I anticipate hearing the noise in New England!

HTTR
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

You gotta take it one game at a time. If you look too far ahead you will end up worse than 8-8.
Right now, we have our hands full with Seattle.

Yep, but S. Alexander has the Gayest TD celebration move. "Rock the baby"
The the D.C. fans should scorn him when and if he does pull it off after a TD this Sunday.

Plus did you guys see Steve Smith pose in the Carolina game after a TD, "What a homo" posing like a swimsuit model. They deserve to loose just because of that move alone.

If we give him a chance to do his dance, then it will be on us.

i say 10-6 if our offense keeps showing signs of life, but if we continue the play as of now 7-9,8-8 if we're lucky.
i do have a good feeling with the bye week and mark & the W.R'S getting on the same page.
our DEFENSE can't keep bailing us out of games sooner or later the dam will break and then what ???

To finish better than 8 and 8 we have to have Ramsey have a fine year. If he stays on the bench or stays on it too long, we'll be as bad as we were last year.

re-bump.

Wow, what did Snyder do while making all his dough to deserve this Karma? And why do the rest of us have to pay for it?

I doubt many people would have preferred ANYONE else to Joe Gibbs as head coach, but when a team seems to have no idea how to NOT give almost every game away when they have them won, it usually boils down to coaching. So what do you do?

We used to delight in the words "NO, Danny, NO!". Now it's "Sell, Danny, Sell!!"

8-8
