Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

I hear the whispers of Rod Gardner.

I think his kicks were kinda hurried, and that we got some lucky bounces on a few...
I don't know Frost, but I like the idea of the other team knowin' that he's a double threat.
Keeps 'em honest.

It seemed to me that Groom didn't get a lot of hang time on his punt's. That and not puting the ball inside the 20 very well doomed him.

People are surprised? :hmm:

We wouldn't have cut the Andy Groom that punted in the preseason but we HAD to cut the regular season version. His kicks were 10 yards shorter... not a lot of loft on them either... and he just hasn't been dropping the ball inside the 20 at all. In a ball control offense... you NEED to be able to win the field position battle.

Frost may be a decent alternative... we'll have to see. They don't make a lot of Tom Tupas.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

HkHog hit it on the head... he can kickoff too! Groom was expendable after being at the bottom of the league in average... this gives them someone who can't really average any less, but can also save Hall from having to kickoff.. which is where he's sustained most his injuries... Gibbs is just dying to see someone kickoff into the endzone... I also think he watched the philly game and realized how important it is to have a backup kicker on th active roster...
